he was out of line, or les wouldn't have responded to it.

you could tell les took it as a direct shot at his players.

wat? i mean he didn't say les is an a-hole, but he did basically question how good a coach he is and credited les' success to saban.

I just thought it was below him to respond to a media person, just like I think it is below Saban to do the same.
Saban and Miles are competitive, and they both care about how people view them as a coach, and they both care about what people say about their players. They will always take up for themselves and their players when they feel a need to. This was a time when Miles did so and came off looking professional, while making the person he put down look unprofessional

Which makes you and your ilk's persumed attitude in this thread laughable. Saban will cuss out a reporter for breathing wrong near him. You're pissed because a representative of your university made a cocky statement, and then was called out for it to his face, plain and simple.

Honestly, that may have been sincere, acknowledging how much success he had as Bama's starting QB, not a pot shot at his short-lived NFL career. I think it was more of a "i'll acknowledge your success in college football as a player, why are you so obtuse as to shite on mine as a coach" type of thing. It was definitely a smart-arse comment, but I don't think he was necessarily being and implying McElroy was a failure or anything

agree totally

and Les corrected him in the most awesome way possible

Yeah I agree.

I do find it funny that it's open for interpretation

Whatever. This thread is entertaining!

If that's your real summary then you're more of a homer than I thought AND you didn't actually read the thread.

Why does this bother you guys so much? Usually you dismiss what Les has to say out of hand.

We can't dismiss him, just what he says. It's Les Miles, nowhere near the greatest coach in the world, we all know that . . . but funny and entertaining as hell.

What he said makes absolutely no sense. It is just dumb and untrue. But the way he says things makes him look like he is knows what he is talking about, when in fact he is just, well . . . being Les, in all his glorified goofiness.

Does Miles always take things so personally? He's been ridiculed by the media and LSU fans for years, does he usually respond?

not unless it's a shot at his players.

have you seen saban at pressers? 7 years now and the media is afraid of him because he's screams at them.

It really is this simple. It's the Bama fans who insist on complicating the issue with "intent" and "necessity"

I think the only thing I'm not getting is - McElroy isn't the 1st person to say this. So why now is Les so bitter over the sentiment of a talking head in his 1st year. Also, Greg is what - 25 years old? That's like me concerning myself with the opinions of 10 year olds.

Or in other words, Lions don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep. Les, be more of a Lion.
