..says the newbie SEC team that just can't win the big games...might want to head back over to the Big 12 where you can be the big fish in the little scum pond.

Welcome to big boy grown man football conference boomer...

Drink's compensation is now in rarified air, and so follows higher expectations. We'll see if this creates some angst with Mizzou boosters.

Given how efficient he was with the portal additions this year and still topped out where he did it’s entirely possible we’ve seen what he’s going to be: an 8-4 to 10-2 guy who in an expanded CFP can reach the playoffs but who struggles due to roster deficits against most other elite teams.

That’s a pretty damn good window for Missouri as long as they remain realistic with it.

1000%.

I’ve been a Mizzou fan for a very long time and I’ll take 8-4 as the floor, and 10-2 / playoff as the ceiling when the stars line up every 3-5 years, all day.

Mizzou isn’t the easiest place to win.

I was more worried about the Florida rumors when it became apparent that Kiffin was going to LSU. Drink got a raise after all that so I would’ve been very surprised to see him leave. Especially to a program in as much disarray as Michigan.

Drink has had moderate success at Mizzou. He's been able to win the games he's supposed to win but nothing more yet. Ohio State win not counting because of the number of players that were out.

Mizzou is paying him like he's going to be able to take Mizzou to the next level. However, he has been flirting a bit with other options despite the better than average job security and those options haven't been offered to him. It tells me that if he is actually able to take Mizzou to the next level he's likely to bolt to other options and Mizzou will start over developing a new coach.

No big program is coming after Drink.

He is good at beating bad teams and losing to good ones.

And yes I know Arkansas is one of the bad teams he can beat.

Missouri at best is 8-4 next year. I could see 7-5.

They finally play a decent schedule

The win over the Buttpies counted! I live in Ohio. They only had Harrison and McCord out for that game. McCord was jettisoned by Day. Mizzou had Rakestraw and Hopper out. Two NFL picks on D.
