I saw the injury when it happened, but I had to leave the house soon after. Have they said anything difinitive about his diagnosis?

It looked like at least a dislocated knee and tib/fib fracture to me. Prayers sent to him and his family. It breaks my heart to see this happen to any kid, but it's even more heartbreaking to see it happen to such a good kid with a promising future.

That was a horrible injury. It was hard to look at. I was in tears when they were putting him on the cart and so many people from both teams came onto the field to show him support.

Latest rumor is that its a lower leg injury (below the knee) and it isn't good. Think Prothro. Infection is the main worry as of this sec.

That is horrible.

There probably isn't a structure in his knee that didn't sustain damage.

Is it confirmed that it was a knee and not "just" a badly broken leg?

In Spurrier's post-game interview he said "Marcus Lattimore will be a success in life in whatever field he ends up in".

I looked at my husband and said "He is done with ball forever".

So sad.

Nothing confirmed. Rumor is below the knee, but maybe a worse injury than knee.

I don't think he's done forever.

Willis McGahee injury ten years ago, still starting in the NFL today.

Modern medicine is very good.

Such a shame that any player gets injured but even worse when it happens to what seems to be a great young man as Lattimore. Prayers sent for a full recovery.

I'm just guessing. It looks like there is knee damage. Your leg doesn't usually face a direction that it shouldn't without there being some type of joint damage. Hopefully there isn't any knee damage. But from my experience, a fracture that close to the joint almost always causes structural damage to the joint.

Looked like a proximal tib fib fracture.

Is he a senior? If he can get healthy again and still have eligibility, he may be able to play again. Aside from concussions and a few other rare injuries, there are very few "career ending" injuries now days. Medicine has advanced so much that they are able to do amazing things now. I still remember when an ACL tear was career ending.

He may not be done with football forever, but he is in for a very long rehab process.

This really does break my heart.

I think you can pretty much say that it's definitely a tib/fib fx. He will be very lucky if there is no knee damage. I'm praying that there isn't.

Hopefully he had a career ending insurance policy like McGahee did. At least that would be some small consolation for the compensation he will lose. It is sad to see such a great guy with so much promise lose out on a great career. I got sick at my stomach.

I've never been this sad over an opponent's injury. This just sucks for the guy.

It just looked like a dislocated knee to me. In tha picture posted on the link the tibia and ficia look straight and the leg just seems to be pointing in the wrong direction. If it is just knee ligament damage he will be back.
