This is the reason why you guys need to be in the Big 10. Missouri isn't a southern state. Kentucky isn't a southern state too. Both of those schools need to go to the Big Ten, but Nebraska beat Mizzou to the punch. Mizzouvhad a dream to be in the Big 10. I hope that the big 10 reconsiders.

Well no, not panty-waist mid & north Missouri,
where people aren't sure where they fit in and still fighting some border war with Kansas,
Kansas for God's sake.
But come to southern Missouri and you'll find if it leans any direction, it's south.

Don't start with that B1g shite. MIZ is happy to be in the SEC and will fit nicely. You'll see. When the rumors started about MIZ to B1g nothing happened. When the rumors started about MIZ to SEC the fan base got motivated and barraged the MU BOC with letters basically saying GTFO of the big12. This shite about MIZ wanting B1g is unfounded. The stupid arse governor ran his mouth about it once so it became false fact.

I'll give that southern mo leans to a more southern culture. Is NWArk a more southern or Midwest culture? Honest question, not trying to flame Arky. Even thoughI'd love to.

The deal about NWA is there's been so damn many move ins from all over the world.

The "native" Arkansans are southern as southern comes. Little towns that have more churches than businesses, very down home folks.

Then you've got the corporate move ins that work for the vendors or Wal*Mart, Tyson, Fed Ex, Baldor, Rheem, JB Hunt, ABF, etc. they bring a west coast big city vibe that is VERY pretensious.

Then you've got the hispanics that came to work in the chicken plants and the construction boom, so that's pretty southern culture, church and family dominate their lives. I tend to really like most of the hispanics I've worked with or become friends with. They can party.

Then there's the viet/laotians populations in Ft. Smith and Springdale, again church and family dominate their culture, very southern.

Then there's the Marshalleese and Islanders which is a pretty closed culture. They were a nightmare at the bar I worked at until we convinced them that we weren't a place they would want to come.

Then there's the retiree's from up north and the west coast that move here to get away from where they moved from, get involved in politics and try to turn NWA into where they came from. These are my biggest pain in the arse people. See Eureka Springs politics.

NWA has become a hodge podge, the frickin' sale barn in Fayetteville is no more, there's less and less farms and more subdivisions. More traffic, drugs, and crime and still lots of good ol' boys.

I agree totally. I've got family in Hot Springs and they are what I'd consider southern. But seems like NWA gets a lot of OK/ SWMO influences, which aren't always a good thing.

I was in Branson last week and I've never seen a place with that many confederate flags and stores devoted to southern heritage. MO wasn't even in the confederacy, what the hell is that about?

Missouri will fit in just fine, and it has nothing to do with our southern heritage. Whether or not y'all is a part of our vernacular doesn't matter. The point of this post was to stir shite up. Mission accomplished. MIZ is ready, like it or not.

That's half true. One of the stars on the confederate flag represents Missouri. So take your misinformation troll vagina, make like a baby, and head out.

In the Civil War, Missouri was a border state that sent men, armies, generals, and supplies to both opposing sides, had its star on both flags, had separate governments representing each side, and endured a neighbor-against-neighbor intrastate war within the larger national war.
By the end of the Civil War Missouri had supplied nearly 110,000 troops to the Union and about 40,000 troops for the Confederate Army. There were battles and skirmishes in all areas of the state, from the Iowa and Illinois border in the northeast to the edge of the state in the southeast and southwest on the Arkansas border. Counting minor engagements, actions and skirmishes, Missouri saw over 1,200 distinct fights. Only Virginia and Tennessee exceeded Missouri in the number of clashes within the state boundaries.
The first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi River was on August 10, 1861 at Wilson's Creek, Missouri, whereas the largest battle in the war west of the Mississippi River was the Battle of Westport at Kansas City in 1864.

I have to go to bed now, but take this and run with it Mizzou haters. I fully expect to wake up on Sunday with a full explanation as to how MIZ doesn't fit into the SEC mold. Wether or not we say or are allowed to say y'all.

Some of y'all are scared of our new membership and that's a fact. "Some of y'all", being Arky, and it's because you know we will step in this bitch and do what it took you 20 years to do. You hate Mizzou for one reason, we are a threat to your newfound "acceptance". Carry on, get your piss hot, and I'll see you after church. Peace out.

Missouri men fought and died for your side. We sent troops to fight in southern states...especially Louisiana. It's insulting when y'all refuse to recognize that. I wonder if any of your state's coward ancestors left their homes and families to fight and die in Missouri?
