Yes! The original Lambert's. The owners are actually my cousin's next door neighbors.

Nice.. I've been to both places. Actually lived in Sikeston for a month after Katrina.. real nice area.
Yes, it is! My mom is still in Cape, along with my oldest brother and his family. So I get back quite often.
Did you ever eat at Broussard's down on Main Street? Baron Broussard moved there from Louisiana a long time ago and opened the restaurant - first place I ever had Cajun and Creole food.

Thats good stuff right there! If anyone ever comes up I-55, I'd recommend a stop at Lambert's. Great food, and something everyone should experience at least once. Just don't order the rooster fries, if they're even still on the menu......

PS since we are getting all dialectical, my family is all from Warshington, Missouri, where we go from har to thar, and put our clothes in the warshin machine, and drive to STL on Interstate Farty Far.
Eastern MO dialect FTW!

I remember getting some of the fried okra and the waiter had a fake rat pop out onto my plate from the bowl he was serving it

I grew up in Hermann, about 30 miles west of Warshington. My parents have moved out here, and still say warsh. They get some looks...

I moved to Texas from Puerto Rico when I was 11. I am not allowed to use the word y'all :(

WTF, I'm in Joplin. Been here since 98'. I always hear yall.

Yeah, I'm sure the food is much better at the source. But Broussard's was a nice addition to the local cuisine, and not bad at all, IMO.
And yes, they like to mess with you at Lambert's! I remember going on a double date when I was in HS, with some of my boyfriend-at-the-time's friends, and we went there to eat. The other girl was the high-maintenance, obnoxious type, and I remember LOL'ing when she got hit in the head with a throwed roll!

So we should say that anyone north of highway farty-far should not use the word y'all? It's the unofficial official y'all delineation line. AKA UOYDL.

Having been a Missouri girl most of my life (except a 2-year hiatus in Kentucky), I really like Columbia. But, it's not necessarily typical of other parts of the state. Because of the 3 universities/colleges, and the huge medical community, there are a lot of transplants here. That affects the culture, speech, food, entertainment - everything. The academic and medical communities, and the artsy types, like to think it's more cosmopolitan than is really is. But I still think it's a great place.

You're kidding me right? I was at the Platte County fair just north of Kansas City last night and 80% of the people there used "y'all."
ETA: not saying Platte county is southern, but to say nobody in Missouri says y'all is crazy

SoCal,
You're my kind of poster, even if y'are a troll's dildo. Y'all don't get his deep trollness. It's almost Latarian in quality.
Y'arent correct, but that doesn't matter. Y'are gonna fit in. Y'all watch out for this one....he's gonna be a feisty one.
Nasty.
