Yes. I think Gus will play the QB that gives AU the best shot at winning. If D'haquille Williams is as advertised, that might make Jeremy Johnson the best option next year. I don't think Gus will have any problem switching if it's the better option. Either way, there will be competition for the position, so that should make both Marshall and Johnson better.
With all that said, I'm willing to bet Marshall gets the nod, with Johnson getting more playing time.

It's gonna be Marshall. It has to be. Coaches value things we don't see, like the ability to organize the team and run the show under pressure.
I agree that Marshall needs to improve, and I'm worried that the things he needs to improve are very challenging. He may be pretty much the same guy next year, just with better reads.
I would expect Johnson to get some meaningful snaps next year. I don't know that Auburn would turn to him in clutch passing situations, but I could imagine it, just maybe, if Auburn gets down 17 or 20.

I think Auburn is going to pound some teams next year, giving Johnson more reps.

No way they sit him, nobody else on campus touches his athleticism. You have to have that at QB in this offense.
I love it when fans of other schools where Gus has never coached make up rules about Malzahn's offense.

Rhett Lashlee (our OC) came out yesterday and said that Nick Marshall is the starter.
