I have no idea why Grant would leave Alabama for Tennessee. He's loved here. He gets the support he asks for. Why would he leave? It's not like Tennessee is a more prestigious school or anything. It'd be stupid.

We were paying Pearl 2.6, my guess is this hire will be in that ballpark or higher if need be.

That's not going to happen, but I think Mal Moore would indeed match it. He wants to go out having resurrected Bama football and basketball. Grant is a very popular hire and he'll do what it takes to keep him.

They would be fools to offer Grant that much. That would put him in like top 5 in salary.

Has UT interviewed anybody? Any pubically known offers on the table? I seriously think it's gonna be difficult to get a big name coach until the NCAA hands down their sanctions.

Just seems to be a significant amount of smoke here. Given it has an orange tint and is being fanned by Vol fans.
