Should be, great class. More great players to compete in the best game in CFB

If you look at the rankings on all the sites, it's almost impossible to figure out how they rank them. Take for instance AU/UGA on Rivals this year...
AU #9. 2-5s, 11-4s, 6-3s. 21 comitts
UGA #10. 3-5s, 10-4s, 6-3s. 20 comitts
That makes no sense.
Even Saban questions the rankings....
Even Nick Saban thinks there could be a "Bama bump" in recruiting rankings.
"Sometimes I don't know what comes first in recruiting rankings, the cart or the horse," Saban told reporters in December. "When a guy gets recruited by what I'm going to call high profile programs, he gets ranked higher. That's where I question the validity of how accurate some of those things may be."

Yes. Congratulations on your Bama connections on both of those sites moving things around at the last minute to ensure your mulligan #1.
You mad, bro?
Since 2011, Alabama has gone 62-7 on the field. So obviously those recruiting rankings are fairly accurate.

Except for his point is anytime a kid gets offers from "big programs" they get a bump, not that when they are going to Alabama specifically they get a bump. Kind of different.

Where did each individual recruit finish in the Top 100 or Top 250? The #1 overall recruit in the nation gives you a higher average than your average 5-star commit.

Another year, another #1 Recruiting Class
by BayouBengals03Congrats on your class. I'm happy with ours too
Would like to have had Fowler. But he's the only flip we had. We did sign a preferred walkon LB who was a 3 star I think...

Did I say Alabama was getting a bump... I questioned the rankings as a whole.... I just linked an article , that says Saban thinks the rankings are not very accurate

I bet there is not a lick of lube and kleenex left in Tuscaloosa.

Roll Tide. #1 on 247, Rivals, and Scout. #2 on ESPN. I think that means we win it again.

If you're a recruiting service, why wouldn't you give a little bump to the guys who are going to Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, etc?
Those schools are the ones winning national championships. They have the top-notch coaches who can develop players as necessary.
Isn't that what any service is about? Being the best, being right? These services want people to look back on these rankings 3-4 years from now, and for them to say "Well it makes sense Alabama won the national championship and has 5 first round draft picks.... Look where their classes were ranked on Rivals!"
I'm not saying this to come off as jealous or anything like that, just being honest. Unless one school is just the runaway #1 on every recruiting service, I'd imagine that all classes ranked in the top 5 are decently similar. From that point, it's about coaching and development.
Obviously, some schools (Alabama, Ohio State) are better at coaching and development than others. If I were a recruiting service, I would put stock in those schools as well.

Totally agree. Not to mention some classes are heavy at positions that are important but don't "rank highly" (guard, center, tight end, etc). Somebody might sign 7 great skill guys who are all Top 50 but not sign any elite linemen and what does it really matter?

Isn't the former owner of Rivals and owner of 247 a bammer grad?
Didn't all this start up around the good ole Mike Price, Shula and Dubose glory days? Remember the phrases "we're rolling baby" and "bammer's back"?
Gotta hand it to bammer they got this cheating errr, hype, errr propaganda down to a science. Nobody does it better

Yep, we were the unanimous #1 in recruiting all through the Shula era. Made it rain!
