Has had black members though, and I'm sure all hangings would have been reported by now, so sounds like they were both only statements, seems hard to argue one was racial while one wasn't

Jesus christ

As long as the word is being used and accepted by anyone, it will never go away. This seems to be far over your head.

If certain people don't want to be offended by the word, they should disavow it's use across the board. Using it in pop culture does nothing for their cause.

In reality, it's a word. If you choose to be offended by it, you've given power to others over you.

Are you used to winning these arguments throigh brute force and not with the weight of your ideas? It would appear so.

You can keep pretending you actually have a valid point to make and keep using words you learned in psych 101 to make you feel smarter.

I am bit confused as why this is even a debate. First the term needs to be banished regardless of race or age. Second, anyone equating this to the SAE incident has it wrong in my opinion.

Nah. The situations would be comparable if Harris had grabbed the mic and rattled off a song about killing white people. But he just referred to someone using a term that basically is the equivalent of 'dude' when used by black people.

Would you mind explaining the racist intent behind Harrison's words? Perhaps quoting historical references of black people using **** in a racist and oppressive manner towards white people?

I use "big" words because I read books. If they're too big for you, I apologize.

The point is plain and obvious. You can say, "I'm fine with my double standard." That would be honest. You cannot say "There is no double standard." And inequality is the presence of differing standards for different people.

And there lies the problem. The younger generation has no real world clue of how ugly this word is and shouldn't be used by anyone, especially black people. The word is derogatory as they come.

If that's true, why not use the word dude? Those 2 words certainly aren't equal. The N word is offensive regardless how or to whom you say it, regardless of which race or nationality says it. Its not a hard concept. At least it shouldn't be

Google will tell you all about it. Please find a source that states the term is acceptable when used by African Americans though, on national tv, when referring to an opposing college athlete proceeded by "frick that"

I'll wait

Or I can keep making fun of you for being upset that white people can't use ****.

I agree with that and that it shouldn't be used. I just disagree with the closet racists using this as get-back for the SAE thing and pretending the situations are comparable.

Roger basically has nailed it. The use of the word as a slang "dude" is not an excuse.

You're not legitimately arguing that **** is racist when used by a black person and that Harrison is a racist because you're not stupid, you're upset that white people can't use it without being chastised.

Sure. You can skip being honest with yourself and continue being dishonest in your argument.

And you can look back at my post where I say I was more bothered by the "Frick that" than I was by his usage of the "n" word. It was a trashy statement, front to back. And anyone defending it is of questionable trashiness.
