I think, a white guy using the word in a group of friends, some of whom happen to be black would be ok if the group referred to them as such. I think using the word as a derogatory slap, the person insulted has a right to be offended.

I don't know how the archair warriors get offended when the word was never meant for them, however.

I assume so because everyone knows that all white people are inherently racist

This is entirely too reasonable a post. You should be ashamed of yourself, sir

Yeah, I'm not sure Kaminsky has said he's been offended yet, but there was some collateral damage.

No harm, no foul I say.

It's more the double standard than anything. I could care less what he said nor could do I care what the other player did when tweeted about the LL baseball player

Its just a word. No one should have their life changed because of it.

Double standards are a part of language. So is context.

People who have a problem over how the N word is received in different contexts should also take up social arms against words like "bitch," is all I'm saying.

I've heard plenty of my black teammates on my old high school football team say things like, "that ****a is crazy!!!" in reference to our white linebacker who played like a mad man. I seriously doubt they had racial intent when they said that but the old tards don't care.

We do have this thing called freedom of speech that has widely been thrown out of the window. Do I agree with the use of the N word. Heck no, but in America, you are free to use it if you wish. It is and will continue to be a double standard.

Nah, it's unacceptable for one, it's unacceptable for all. Either the word is powerless and has no bearing on any of us anymore in which case let us shout it from the streets. Otherwise the word is vulgar and a reminder and let us never speak it like the name of sauro.... I cannot bear to put the n.

Oh, did you guys happen to know that whites were also enslaved for many centuries to many people. A much higher percentage than any other ethnicity throughout history as a matter of fact. Oh, you didn't know that? Perhaps because it's not brought up every 2 fricking seconds!

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. You can say anything you want, but you have to deal with the aftermath.

He can say **** all he wants, he should not be disrespectful to his opponent in that way. I am so glad they lost. Why do we waste scholarships on athletes that never plan on obtaining an education anyway
