We can complain about Grubb or Wommack all we want, but ultimately its a Deboer issue because he is the one that hired them, doesn't over-ride their decisions, and retains them based on their performance...........As someone else said, Tell Deboer Grubb is gone or you are gone. Grubb calls bad plays and is not a good QB developer. Ty and Russell both going through the same struggles under him.

This is the biggest issue. Now does our AD want to be the problem or part of the solution? Hand Deboer a couple of candidates that fit the bill and tell him their new roles. See if deboer does a $65 million blink.

Grubb never wanted to be here in the first place. He left the as soon as he got an opportunity to leave the first time.

Only reason he’s here now is because that opportunity didn’t workout. He turned down Saban I believe as well to become the OC.

Grubb doesn’t want to be here now and it shows. He’s just drawing a paycheck and going through the motions.

Grubb doesn't want to be here and the fans don't want him here. Deboer keeping him is non productive for all involved. But mostly our poor QBs.

This is a recipe for disaster and exactly what was wrong with our program before Saban arrived.

Grubb obviously isn't the answer but NO ONE besides the head coach needs to be picking coaching hires.

Their friends, good friends and that’s the problem. Grubb doesn’t work for DeBoer, he works alongside him and their offensive philosophy is one and the same.

When your in charge or in a leadership position and you have a close friend that works for you, it makes it extremely difficult to fire that person when it calls for it.

Even deeper than that, I don't think Deboer wants "alpha' coaches or they would see him for what he is. Thats why he doesn't want a "Pruitt" on staff because he would call out softness in the coaching staff. Its also one of the reasons he doesn't want Saban's input. Pussies don't want to be around people that expose them.

I think DeBoers a good coach. He’s won championships in his career and he’s moved up the coaching ranks. He’s at a top of the mountain program right now and was given an opportunity and it’s not working out.

He has to win out the regular season now. It’s possible but highly unlikely how they looked yesterday.

Deboer would be good in another conference and he has won in other situations. But the Bama job requires the very best that can survive in the SEC. I believe the job will prove to be too big for him ultimately. The hiring and the handling of Grubb is proof enough of that for me. Add on the team softness.

You have to look at this from a business standpoint. Deboer may or may not be cut out for this position. He had a chance this off season to eliminate problem areas. He corrected some but the main area he didn't see a problem. That area has reared it's ugly head again and needs corrected. You as the AD have to make corrections because your job is on the line. After all your the one who handed out all of the severely unwarranted extensions. You go to Deboer for solutions. If his don't answer the problem, you hand him some that do. Like it or not this a business. Deboer had all of the promise a leeway to keep Alabama competitive but now there is a fork in the road

Sounds like a comparison to when Pruitt worked for Richt at uga.
