So tragic. Thoughts and prayers to the young man's family and loved ones.

quote:

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
from the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came the date of birth
and spoke the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
?the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

?So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

Linda Ellis

God bless his family and friends. All we know is the tragic end, they understand the person who lived 20 years prior.

Things did not work out for him as well down here at Nicholls State. He basically resigned(never heard a football player doing that before) after an arrest. Sad ending to a young man that had so much talent on the football field but couldn't pull it together in his life. God bless him and his family!

I wish he had made some better choices, you always want his stories to end with redemption, not death. Here is to hoping his eternity is happiness.

Damn, I always hate to hear this, especially at such a young age. I'm having a hard time placing him though. Did he get much playing time at Bama?

That is so sweet of Drake, and I am so glad that he has turned his life around and doing so well.
Even though we as fans love to see our team win, we also love to see these guys do well after college.
It is so sad when a life is taken so early.

if this was on the OT and he didn't play CFB.. the general consensus would be "one less thug on the streets". marijuana arrests don't make you a thug pos.. but the whole shooting the gun thing very well might.

dead in a car wreck.. he didn't earn that.

it was a one car wreck. I'm curious to find out what the condition were like. I wonder if a toxicology report might let us know more as well. I don't think weed would have caused him to wreck, it might have been benzos or booze if drugs were involved. the whole gun thing and firing it off is definitely questionable. I wish people would learn the thug gangster thing is really dumb and those people are really bad people. I would know I've met a ton of them and there have been very few I think are good people, but there are still some who are. this guy may have been one of them.

I was driving on Hwy 1 yesterday around 4:30 pm on my way back to NWA. There were no bad road conditions, it was a beautiful afternoon.

apparently from the police report that he was very drunk and was acting very irrationally. went to the police to tell them he had the gun or something like that. it was very very strange. seems like he had some issues to say the least.
