Would it be a stretch for Auburn to make it into the playoffs with two losses? Yes. However, with that being said, who would have a better SOS? Auburn would be 10-2 with wins against the following:
Oregon @ 11 (CFP Ranking: 6)
Georgia @ 4 (Current)
Alabama @ 5 (Current)
And losses against:
Florida @ 10 (CFP Ranking: 11)
LSU @ 2 (CFP Ranking: 1)
While this may come off as being a homer, a 10-2 Auburn (with nearly half of their schedule being against the Top 10) comes off as being a better choice for the last spot than Oregon, Minnesota, Ohio State, Baylor, Oklahoma, Penn State, etc. Are we looking for the best records, or are we looking for the best teams?
