being too snooty to be able to associate with the sec fanbases, at least according to most of what I have read about them.

But, if we were to aquire them, what are the chances we could influence their younger generations, and the next to re-embrace their southern brothers in down to earth thinking. Afterall, they are the Cavaliers and Tar Heels. Names rooted from the War of Northern aggression.

Schools named after Rebels from the Civil War belong in the SEC.

I think the SEC would go after Va Tech and NC State first. UNC and Duke aren't separating. Virginia would come if invited.

I think we could get UNC if we gave them enough incentive. $$$$$$$

Nope. UNC won't separate from Duke, no way, no how. That leaves NC State as the only North Carolina option.

Honestly I wouldn't mind NC State. I feel like they have a lot of potential

You don't think they would separate if say......we gave them double their normal allotment of their share of sec distributions the entire first year in?

It would be nice to have all of the flagship schools in the south.

I agree. Even though UNC generally isn't very good in football. I would still rather play them over NC State. Kinda like I would rather play Michigan over Michigan St.

Plus we get an upgrade in roundball.

I know they don't want to go anywhere without Duke, but the threat of NCSU joining the SEC instead would make them reconsider.

VT and NCSU are the realistic options.

If we get UNC we're going to have to get Duke too.

But we could go after Virginia Tech and go with someone like NC State.

I'd like to see UNC come to the SEC (frick Roy Williams, as well), but it would never happen (no matter how much $$$$ gets involved). SEC baskeball would be , though.

NCSU isn't bad, would be fine with VT/UVA.

My guess is that we eventually get NCSU and VT. Duke and UNC stay put and UV joins the B1G.

Why do you think the right amount of cash wouldn't persuade them. It always persuaded me.

No, a buy in would not be a persuasion, only the annual payouts. By the way, the SEC would never offer one school a larger allotment to get someone who is not currently in the conference.

I agree with this.

Expansion is all about markets, not necessarily teams. look at us adding Missouri.

No point in adding NC if we have to get Duke, we need the NC and Virginia t.v. markets
