I know who you are talking about, but have no idea about his financial situation. I will say that most of the poor kids who get scholarships end up using their free cash flow on cars. Housing stipend is over $1k per month, cost of attendance stipend is just under $500 per month, and if they're poor, the Pell Grant breaks out to just over $500 per month.
Sure, there are a few athletes that still get cars as perks, but that's just not the way most schools do it these days. Look at what Wade was offering to Smart's family. Or the no-show job for the LSU player's family at the OLOL foundation. That's how stuff gets done these days.

Regardless, Cam arrived for the Spring semester of 2010 and went through Spring Training, and Auburn didn't have a starting QB until August. He went 3 for 8 in the Spring game and was outperformed by two other QBs.
