How would AU's season have gone if Stidham was lost for the season late in the first game?

Probably would have won at least 8 games with an ACC Schedule.

H/H every other decade at a minimum would be ideal.

UT vs UA neutral site game in Dallas once every decade might be even better.

How many games has Saban lost when he only had one week to prepare for a team ?

A hell of a lot less than he has won with one week to prepare. This is stupid, probably 95% of games he coaches are with 1 week to prepare, of course most of his losses are going to come when he had 1 week to prepare

Look at the BCS years and especially the last three CFP years. He blew out LSU and ND in BCSCGs and MSU,UW,and Clemson the first round of the Playoffs(5 weeks prep). But in the Championship game (less than 10 days to prep) it has come down to the very end of the game.

Guess what. It’s harder to beat two top four teams, than one top four team, to win a title. Groundbreaking stuff here.

The FSU team was weak across the board and they proved it the entire season. They beat two teams with a winning record (WF and Duke). I know the Bammers want to make out like the QB was all-World, but one player doesn't make that big of a difference in a good team. I guess FSU just passes the "eye test" for all the Bammers.

I can now see the you are a dumb mfer that doesn't have the ability to process reason. Therefore I'm gonna bow out of this argument so I don't piss you off enough to beat your poor wife or dog tonight.

A championship game was close? No way, it's almost like they intended those games to be between evenly matched teams

No, I just like to point out the reality of College Football. I know it butthurts every Bama Fan, but the system is screwed up. It allows a non-conference (non-divisional) champion a chance to play for everything because the subjective view of 12 people. It allows a good coach enough time to out scheme and prep for other teams, where it may not be best team vs best team, but best Coach vs inferior Coach. It is becoming what the NIT was 30 years ago. Just set up for entertainment purposes.

There’s no reason Bama fans to be buthurt. You’re the one buthurt about a supposedly “broken system”.

Well the only reason sports exist is for entertainment.

And don’t act like you don’t bitch about everything Bama does.

So hire a good coach instead of extending Gus for multiple more years?

Wow, Excuse U. No, they sucked and that is one of the reasons Jimbo was so eager to get the hell out of Tallahassee. Hell, their D even made UF look competent on Offense. Again, two wins against winning teams (8-5 AND 7-6).

FSU loses their heart and soul along with a possible Heisman winner in the first game, inserts a true freshman, and you think it will not effect the team on both sides?

I do not know if the FSU defense was just bad, or if that loss effected them as well. I know when I played, we lost our best player at the start of the season. It had a massive effect on how we practiced and how we played.

No excuses, but if Alabama had lost Hurts in the first game, Alabama might have tanked as well.......

I do not think even FSU fans believe that.

It's not that subjective. Who would you have put in place of Bama? UCF? Lol. Ohio State? Yes they won their conference, but were manhandled 31-16 by Oklahoma and 55-24 by Iowa.

The fact is Bama was the best team in the CFIT, mainly due to Saban having enough time to prepare for a team.

Out of the 14 loses Alabama has suffered under Coach Saban since, 6 of them came when Alabama had more than a week to prepare.....so almost half

Coach Saban is the GOAT college football coach, but at least research before posting.....

Every other NCAA Sport places Conference Championships at the highest level for selection to their tournament (including Basketball). The CFIT ignores this and uses the "eye test" to determine who plays. Which is fine if there are not enough teams to field the slots (ie field of 68), but it goes against everything that Conferences play the regular seasons. Is Iowa better than MSU or A&M, is AU or UGA better than Iowa. Truth is we do not know, so the fall back should always be the 5 Conference Champions.

Post the prep time with those loses.
