Alabama will likely blow the doors off of S. Carolina this week. Tennessee and Florida?

I don't really have any idea.

Vandy is probably a better offensive team than S. Carolina. I don't know if they would beat S. Carolina head to head because I think S. Carolina would give them problems with the Gamecock defensive front.

But Bama was up on Vandy in the net yards per play department by 3 plus yards. That is a huge gap. However, it tends to not be as telling as the YPP average rises. So 5.6 to 8.8 probably doesn't produce as many blowouts as 4.0 to 6.2. Why? Because an offense with 4.0 is probably not staying on the field and the team with 6.2 is moving the ball pretty well. At 5.6, Vandy was able to stay on the field. Converted 3rd downs at a little better rate than you would expect with that average and got a pick 6.

But they didn't have any huge success with Bama's offense. 8.8 yards per play is massive. LSU led the country last year at 8.4.

If S. Carolina's offense is held to less than 5 ypp and Bama puts up 7 ypp or close to it, then you're getting S. Carolina's offense off the field and putting yours on it more often, which probably ends up being a blowout. Of course if you lose the turnover battle like last week, that could make things interesting. Wouldn't be as worried about a backdoor cover in this one given DeBoer probably wants to make a statement pleasing his angry fanbase.

The Tennessee Arkansas game was not like the Bama Vandy game. Tennessee lost the YPP stat 5.9 to 5.2. And Arkansas looked better offensively most of that game. I won't be surprised if Tennessee gets the blowout because Florida just looks so undisciplined and unprepared every time they play a team with a pulse. But for whatever reason, they are in Tennessee's head and Tennessee brain farts a lot. The win two years ago with an 11-2 team wasn't exactly easy. Wouldn't want to bet on this game.

Would much rather take Bama and give S. Carolina 23 than take Tennessee and give Florida 14.5 to 16.5 (seen different lines at different places).

The Bama offense is not real complicated and the defense is even more simple. Who knows whats going to happen. Bama is a mystery at this point. I'm just glad they are ranked much lower. The #1 ranking was insane.

At this point, the least bit of adversity for Bama could be catastrophic. Early turnover on offense or a defensive gaff and shite could go sideways. No idea how this game goes.

I agree, bama and giving the points is a better bet. Didnt Florida get a QB back?

Regardless, Tennessee and that freshman are going through a learning curve, and because DuBose coaches to emotion and not a standard I fully expect Alabama to go have one good game, get pumped up and have a letdown, then get mean and have a good game, then another letdown all year long.

This week is good bama week. The week after....

If you’re betting I’d take SC and the points. Not that I’m anyone to give betting advice I never do it.

True story. Unless you are over eighty years old, the greatest coach you have experienced in Vol football history is Phil Fulmer. And it's not really close.
