A mile and a half wide and it cut a swath from t-town to b-ham? I can't imagine this system popped two tornadoes of that strength that close together. It had to leave whole towns completely flattened in it's wake. It's hard to even imagine the scope of that kind of damage.
I've seen some reports that a lot of the people who have been pulled out of the rubble have lost arms and legs. Watching the tornados form, and then seeing the debris fly up when you knew they were over populated places was sort of like watching 9/11 and Katrina. I was in tears because a few friends had texted me saying they could hear it, and then I didn't hear from them for hours. I still haven't heard from some people, but surely they are fine.

There was a missing 7 week old baby that they just found in Pleasant Grove. The paramedics were doing CPR on the mother and gave the baby to a on looker to take care of. She finally got back in touch with the police. The baby's mother died with just the father left.
Just watched that story on the live video link. Their house collapsed on them. The mom died. She was a nurse. The dad was ok but as they were doing CPR on the mom the firefighters gave the baby to a lady and told her to treat him as her own until he could be reunited with his dad. They told her that the baby was all the dad had left. She was waiting to hear from someone when she saw the story on the news and called to say she had the baby. Very sad story

Bella are you in North Alabama? I know a lot of my family has been saying that the cell phone service is totally hopeless. I just got service back about an hour ago. Keep praying for your friends and family and dont give up hope.

I'm sorry Bella. This thing went a long way didn't it? That's absolutely tragic.

This might be a strange analogy but those pictures remind me of European cities that were bombed during World War 2.

It honestly felt like I was walking through a deserted town after a bad war or something. Eerily silent... pure destruction. No words... So many things and places I've known and loved my entire life are just gone. Completely gone... Very thankful to be alive... It missed my house by about a mile.

I think when the dust settles, there will be a lot more deaths and several will be missing.

I'm in Birmingham. The people I know who I haven't heard from are in Tuscaloosa for the most part, and one person who was at his family's farm outside of Cullman. I am sure they are fine.

The picture of the rubble with the red pole bent over used to be a pawn shop on the corner of 82 and 15th street. You can see a TV, a generator, and a couple other things. There was a set of tires and rims on the ground.
