We had it on the collar for a game a few years ago. I think against Ole Miss. It didn't look bad. I wouldn't like it permanently, but I was ok with that one game. I don't think that's real either, but it could be worse i'm sure

You should see the new Alabama shirt I got in my store today. Talk about frickin ugly. It's houndstooth with a big arse crimson A on it. I wanted to chunk those bitches in the garbage when I opened the box up.

It doesn't even have to do with the fact that I hate Alabama, black/white checkered on clothing/ball caps is just hideous.

LSU's unis were heavily influenced by uniforms from the 1940s including the shade of gold and the sleeve stripes. tOSU's unis were intended as an homage to the 1954 team. Oklahoma's unis were influenced by the teams uniforms from 1946-56 which included 2 national championship teams. And the Texas unis were basically the same ones they wear now with slight modifications to fit the cut of the uniforms. The helmet designs were the ones used by the team during the tenure of legendary coach Darrell K Royal. And, in addition, Clemsons unis were pretty much a slightly modified set from the current unis.
I think it depends on the athletic department and its wishes. Does anyone honestly think you'll see an incredibly major change to Alabama's unis? I don't I think you'll see a uni set that's meant to reflect something worn during the tenure of Bear Bryant...probably white helmets and some sort of houndstooth pattern somewhere on the unis. Personally, I think the houndstooth will be on the inside of the collar.

Personally, my guess is the Auburm game. tOSU wore their unis at Michigan last year. LSU wore theirs against Arkansas. It seems like Nike pushes these schools to wear the special unis against non-Nike teams in high profile games.

If they retain the traditional look for the most part like those, I don't think anyone would have a prob with em. If they come out with something off the wall that's never been worn, there's gonna be alot of bellyaching.

The uniforms aren't going to be anything really away from traditional from what a buddy of mine is telling me. He works with the team and has said that they are pretty much just the pro combat material.
He linked me to the picture that is floating around. It's a small pic but you can tell it's not really a new design.
I guess he could be wrong but I guess we'll find out for sure on the unveiling date.

I've always liked Bama's uniforms fwiw...I wish LSU would go back to the old design

That looks fine. I'd imagine Mal wouldn't let it get to wild. He knows what the old money thinks about breaking too far away from traditional things.
