When you are comparing a washed up, post-show cause version of Pearl, then yes, Marshall > Pearl.

If Pearl is such an elite, high in demand coach, why the hell is he at Auburn? There were very few programs willing to gamble on Pearl, and AU is exactly that type of place.

Ignorance is bliss, isn't it?

According to your logic, Howland > Pearl. Let's only remember their peaks and pretend like their firings and absences from the game never happened. Yea, that's why elite coaches like Pearl and Howland are at Auburn and Miss St.

With all bammers massive amount of money, the very best coach you have a shot at according to the people conducting the search from your own school is a coach from Wichita State who had been past the round of 32 one time before this year. And nobody outside your fan base thinks that is going to happen

Bammers second choice is apparently a guy that comes from the same school Anthony Grant coached at prior to going to bama. Auburn fans aren't pissed at those facts. If anything Auburn fans are laughing that those are the best choices all your money can get

I do not think anyone who knows Basketball questions their coaching ability. Poor off the court decisions got both in trouble. I think AU and MSU will learn to forgive them.

Nobody thinks they suck. It is just they set themselves up for exposure if the go to one of the better Conferences. In coaching, the myth is better than the reality, if you hope to land a big job. Ask any hot shot coach , who had to leave the SEC due to that reality.

Bama will have to settle for their second or third choice down the list... Coaches are more successful when they leave bama... CAG will be successful elsewhere... Bama will not have a decent bball program, not as long as the football program is doing so well...

Funny, I've heard that about Auburn...but the coaches that leave Auburn really don't have but one way to go, so....

How far do y'all think you will go to land Marshall?

I'd bet it would take $5 plus. Would y'all pay that much for a basketball coach?
