The biggest difference I see, between Burrow and Jones, is that Burrow was a product of the system he played in and Jones is a product of his pure god given talent.

If Jones was the QB at LSU last year, he'd probably have thrown 80 touchdowns.

What kills me, though, are the people who attribute Mac's success to his surrounding teammates yet completely ignore Joe played last season with the best offensive line in football, the only RB drafted in the first round this year and three first round WRs.

Mac played the latter half of the season throwing the ball to Miller Forristall, Slade Golden, Jahleel Billingsley and John Metchie in addition to Devonta Smith. None of those guys are near as talented as Jefferson, Chase or Marshall.

Yea totally agree - and Mac is making legitimately fantastic throws with consistency. The Tua slant stuff irritated me, but there was definitely some truth to it (though he was probably the best at it I've ever seen, which was frustrating because people just assumed any Joe Blow could make those throws).

Mac's just been incredible all season, all over the field, in all different situations. And while he has a fantastic O-line and RB, his WR core is not even a Top 5 unit in the country. He's got the best WR in the country and then a solid, 3-4th round pick and Slade Bolden, along with a TE who hadn't caught a pass until 4 weeks ago.

He is not Joe Burrow, but his season is not the product of some sort of easy drag and drop system that 30 other college QBs could waltz into and have the same success. He deserves every accolade he gets, and maybe more.

No. You're right. God doesn't exist. It should just read "pure talent".

That might be the dumbest post in the thread. Burrow was right in the thick of the rookie of the year race when he got hurt. Are you implying that the Bengals have some great system lol?

Better chance he would get sacked 80 times

You realize we are talking about Mac Jones, not Trevor Lawrence, right?

He's got plenty of talent, but there was a reason he was a 3-star HS kid who picked us over Kentucky . The dude had to work into what he is.

But he did throw enough picks to lose to an Auburn team with a true freshman QB.

If you want to go there, Burrow lost to Felipe, while throwing 2 picks. Does that take away 2019?

The only thing I realize is that I'm trolling the LSU assclowns on this board.

True. But his record against us at Ole Miss helps even it out. So we got that working for us.
