Even if they start selling beer, that’s not gonna be enough to pull me back in.

Stub hub, even at a premium, for just a game here and there, is cheaper than trying to maintain season tickets, and I have flexibility in seating, 2 tix or 5 tix, etc.

Why would I be a season ticket holder?

It has everything to do with the rising ticket and concession prices, combined with the once again rising gas prices. Why spend all of that money to transport my family to a game when I can watch it for free in my living room on my 70" 4K UHD TV?

That's what many American dads are thinking these days.

Found this in the comments.

quote:

You mean realignment of conferences so we could get awesome traditional regional rivalries like Michigan-Rutgers and WVU-TCU isn’t drawing more fans? Weird.

Except now instead of that idyllic fall afternoon cheering on your favorite team, you're bombarded with a piped in music that 75% of the ticket buying crowd can't stand. The in-stadium experience has been degraded at the same time the prices keep escalating.

Meh, according to this site LINK, Bama's home attendance has increased since the start of the Saban era to around 712,053 for 7 home games this year.

Bama's ranked #4 in home attendance.

The SEC has 5 teams in the top 10 for home attendance.
4. Bama
5. Texas A&M
6. LSU
7. Tennessee
9. Georgia

11. Florida
13. Auburn
23. Arkansas
26. Ole Miss
27. Mississippi St.

Teams are tired of watching shitty matchups. Its bullshite that Bama only has good OOC matchups on neutral sites.

Millennials are what's ruining football, along with everything else.

Is it a surprise that generation has much less interest in football than prior generations?

With demand softening prices should be coming down, but they aren't, if anything they are still going up, it's completely backwards.

My mind is blown that, per that article, SEC attendance is down since '92. BDS has added 30K seats since then, and is much bigger than Legion Field in its prime. Most stadiums have grown since then as well, albeit probably not that dramatically. How is that possible?

The decline is year over year #'s, not historical.

More people are attending in raw numbers than in the 90's, but the trend last year was downwards.

Not much parity, higher cost, traffic and HDTV.
