I bet you do. You hung your nuts out there on the chopping block. Never show your hand all at once. 95% on the hot board that you fall going upstairs.

"Russellville High Principal Tim Guinn spends his morning monitoring the student parking lot. He said he has never seen Calloway drive any car, much less a Camaro.
"I don't believe any of these allegations are true. No, not one of them," Guinn said. "Between me and the assistant principal, we're in that lot every day, and we've never seen Brent driving. Now he's gotten into a car as a passenger, but never a driver. He does not have a parking space on campus. Word would have gotten back to us if he was driving a new car."

This guy was the prequel to Trooper Taylor. #truth.
I am telling you, AU fans will one day regret his hire, stop being apologists for him, and be glad his tenure on the plains was only 3 years.
I won't lie. He makes me nervous. He has had a reputation all the way back to his UT days as being a guy that dealt with street agents and with the NCAA putting a lot of attention on guys like Lyles and Nelson it makes me even more leary of him. I've never met him and I'm not an insider so for all I know he could be on the up and up and just one immensely charming fricker but it normally doesn't work out that way.

Mike Dubose absolutely knew players were being bought. There is no doubt in my mind. Bama was guilty as charged on the Albert Means situation and deserved every ounce of punishment we got. Probably the best thing that ever happened for Alabama athletics because we ran our Pat Dye's and Bobby Lowder's out of town and finally hired a coach without asking "What would Bear do?"
Out of curiosity was Moore the AD then and if so how did he seem to come through it all unscathed?

I hear ScAUbinsky is supposed to have a nice Calloway article tomorrow. I hope it is good, yo.

I believe Mal became AD in 1999

Hate to break it to you, but that doesn't describe Trooper. I spent about 3 hours with him in New Orleans in a personal setting in 2007 and felt I needed a shower afterward. They guy has loose morals and loose vocabulary.
Also, I know a guy who used to recruit against Trooper when Taylor was still at UT. He tells stories about Trooper being nit only UT's contact person to street agentd, but also UT's bagman at the time (or at minimum the guy who arranged it).
People may believe it or not (i know au fans wont), but Trooper is who Sports By Brooks was talking about a couple of months ago when he said that there was an SEC asst who was asked to find another job. He couldnt do it, but because of his knowledge of "things" au couldnt fire him either.

He was Bama's 1st commit for 2011 and grew up a bama fan. The irregularities would seem to be from the tooperluperfercation process to most.
Exactly. He had been committed to us for like 7 months. If there is anything sketchy about his recruitment it is how on earth Auburn changed his mind for a few weeks before he came back to his original commitment.

He was AD then also. I thought he should have been fired at that time, but he kept his job mainly for his ability as a fundraiser. At his age, that is his primary duty and others handle most of the day to day stuff. The facility improvements under his tenure have been simply remarkable.

Actually, he committed in the summer after his sophomore year, so he was committed for about 19 months to us and 19 days to AU.

Consistent negative recruiting over the course of many months. I don't think they cheated with Calloway. They just exploited his concerns about where he fit on Alabama's depth chart. It's unethical as shite, but not against the rules.

Like I said I don't know him and have no reason to disbelieve you. I was going to ask why we would be glad he would only be here three years but the SBB story makes sense and to be honest I hope they don't renew his contract. It does make me feel a little bit better to think that our coaching staff privately acknowledge he is a problem.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - What's a major football program to do when a report surfaces from a rival's fan website alleging potential major violations in the recruitment of one of the school's high-profile signees?
It's not supposed to bury its head in the sand or take a casual, consider-the-source approach.
It's supposed to check it out.
That's what Alabama has done with the latest twist in the long and winding road Brent Calloway traveled to sign with the Crimson Tide in February.

I was waiting for Bama compliance to show their hand. They did that tonight. Now it's time for me to lay out the goods.

Scarbinsky might have cost himself Family membership for the 2011-2012 fiscal year with that one.

The Auburn message boards and Twitter are heating up. They're calling it "Bloody Sunday".
