Having recorded an attendance of 2,086, that amounts to less than 14% of capacity of Coleman Coliseum's 15,383 seats. Yes, I know it's the NIT, yes I know they want Avery out, and yes, I know faith in the basketball program is dismal after being the first four out, but holy shite that is bad. Their students aren't even on spring break, and that's all they could manage?

Who were then laughed at by Norfolk State postgame for lack of effort.

We've showed up for games anytime this program gets any traction at all. We've been in the Top 25 in attendance almost every year for 15 years and gone to 2 NCAAT in that stretch.

We've done everything we can. People are tired of this shite.

i get that, but if you’re a player, it’s hard to get up for a game that your team is hosting with an empty arena. Just a shitty situation all around. Hopefully that tactic works and Avery is ousted.

Yea it sucks all around. Nothing good about it. Sometimes teams are just bad because they have bad players. That's hard to root against. Sometimes teams have no direction and play lackadaisical and effortless for long stretches. Those teams are much easier to stop caring about. This was one of those teams.

Well, if the fanbase decides the game is meaningless and acts accordingly by not attending, then the players won't play for anything.

The players have been playing like they aren't playing for anything for a month, so forgive me for not feeling sorry for their need for positive crowd gratification.

The place was packed for Florida - they gave piss effort.

The place was packed for LSU - they gave good effort, but lost.

The place was packed for Auburn - they barely got a shot off the last 15 minutes and moped around the floor.

The crowd has nothing to do with their effort. They are an undisciplined program and roster that comes and goes as they please.

The fan's level of interest matches the players level of effort.

So, it is Avery, or the players? Or, a lack of motivation instilled within the players by Avery? I interpret from Alabama fans that Avery is the cause of everything wrong with the program.

Also, you should cut them some slack, because Tennessee did the same thing against the same teams you describe here:

I'm on a phone and not doing this whole thing, but we've given this program, staff and players a lot of love and shown up consistently.

People are tired of it. The last month was the most pathetic, uninterested meltdown I've ever seen - and we've seen a lot of them. Avery is the coach, it falls on him, but the kids just didn't show up (and openly admitted it postgame) for roughly half the games that last month (Florida, A&M and Auburn specifically).

When your players and coach openly talk about how they weren't ready to play in MUST WIN games down the stretch it gets really really frickin hard to give two shites about them.

Alright, point taken.

Also, copy/paste for Tennessee football the past ten years. If anyone knows what this is like, it's us.

Right now I’d love to trade administrations with LSU. Ours stands by its coaches way too much.

Yea - it's really not all that different. But even more so it's the way this year ended. They didn't just stink, they stunk many times because they just weren't there mentally.

That's just unexcusable.

Have outdrawn LSU Basketball for roughly a decade. Do we want to talk about those packed houses at Tiger Stadium too? Or perhaps your baseball fans wanting to fire your national championship baseball coach after every random mid week loss?

Crawl back into your hole please.

I get it. What you describe is a parallel to the lack of effort presented by UT players last November. Just inexcusably bad. I could tell those guys really didn't give a sh1t about the team or going to a bowl game.

The difference there is, unlike Avery, I don't entirely fault Pruitt for the team's dismal performance during the end of the season.

Right, but it was year 4 for Pruitt? Be a little different.
