You cannot be trying to argue with a straight face that the 2020-2021 SEC is worse than the early 2010s.

2011 UK and UF made it to the Elite 8 and UK to the Final 4. Like I said, you can gauge the league based on those two programs.

Yea Grants teams couldn't score but they generally weren't terrible.

Barbees teams couldn't score. They were also just miserable all around.

The only time I was convinced even when we were on offense we were playing defense. It was a miserable product to watch.

Gonzaga will probably win the national title. The WCC will get at most 2 teams into the NCAAT.

The depth of a league is what determines how many it gets into the tournament, not having 1-2 really good teams.

Silliness

Anthony Grant... top 25 defense, 200+ offense. Hard to watch. When they got together with Barbee and AU, it felt like a 4 hour game. Glad both teams have come a long way since then and seemingly dedicated real resources to the basketball programs. It was sloppy today, but those games made today look like a Finals game 7.

Covid will allow the SEC to get more teams in then they deserve, but that is a facade. This entire year is going to be completed with smoke and mirrors, something the SEC is getting good at.

When you start to sound like an LSU football fan during basketball season, take a pause.

It is the truth about how Covid will affect the season. My guess is many teams will not finish the season because of how BB differs from Football. If you have any positive, you can lose 4 games due to contract tracing. Once the Tourneys begin, watch you is there that wouldn't normally be there but the NCAA needs 68 teams.

The tournament is in a bubble in Indiana this year. They will field the 68 best teams, regardless of how many games they played, and play as scheduled. Besides, it three months away and they aren’t losing March Madness for the second year in a row.

I don’t understand your correlation between covid cancellations and tournament qualification. If you miss 4 games, so what? It’s not football. You can easily consider a teams resume with 20 games played.

Just like some of the Bowl matchups this year.

Not arguing that, but it will be watered down with teams that do not belong because they have to have a tournament this year.

I'm noticing a trend. Fans of shitty teams tend to say this season doesn't count. Hmm...interesting.

No, some of us do not sugarcoat what we see. I have watch most of the teams in the League this year and I haven't seen anything to impress. Football was based on how teams handled Covid and what they reported. BB teams will have to depend on talent and talent of the opponent. Home Court means nothing, so the scores will be based on talent alone. Right now nobody is showing any talent that sticks out that makes me think they can compete with the elite teams. Maybe I'm just blinded by how bad UK and UF are this year. But UT isn't much better.

The obvious appears to be exactly what he said in the first place. Fans of teams that suck this year in either football or basketball are pussing out and saying how meaningless the season is. The teams with something to play for or that had a good year don't share that perspective. Funny how that works.

Not fans of teams that suck, just fans of the game. It is obvious that the NCAA is chasing the money over the integrity of the game. First Football with the unequal seasons with self reporting of Covid and now with a BB season just looking to find 68 teams to go thru the motion of a tournament, March Madness will not have any madness. The good teams will coast.
