I'd like to think that the person who downvoted the Lane Burroughs post was a Northwestern student who was like "wait, screw that, they can't have him!" He has a pretty good resume. I'd imagine, if he wants to, he'll get some job offers in the near future.

Unacceptable for any program in the SEC after 7 years.

College baseball is little better than high school baseball.
well that's just completely false

it's a significantly inferior product to the professional game.
well that's also because even the top prospects out of high school largely never make it to the majors. baseball is easily the most difficult sport to make it to the highest level. but go watch a single A baseball game and tell me it's more intriguing than watching your school play.
also, fwiw, believe it or not, more first round picks now are coming from college than elsewhere. 16 of the 27 first round picks last season came from college baseball.

No one said it was unique.
Glad we agree that most fans are the same in this regard. Your previous posts seems to suggest that this was a unique attribute of Alabama fans.

The only thing that seems unique to my mind is the pride Bama fans take in not caring about how there school does in things. The first posts are always WHO CARES? Bama fans take a certain measure in pride in only caring at things they are good at. That seems bizarre to me. Even if you don't care, why are you proud of that fact?

I also think I read that 60% of the MLB active roster is filled with college players which, I think, is an all time high.

If Dave Serrano can't get that team out of the mire, I'm not sure what they can do.
nothing honestly. people want to blame his west coast style of play, but vanderbilt did/does a lot the things he does while building their program and had a much tougher road to becoming an elite with their lack of history and academic standards. serrano was also able to take a team that had just become a d1 program the past 8 or 9 years to the cws and to their first ever tournament appearances

What do you think those numbers will look like if a World Draft is approved after the next CBA?

Was saying in another thread Alabama needs to get rid of Gasperd and go after Tony Robichaux at ULL. The dude just got ULL to 2 straight super regionals and makes just $120k a year.

That's an interesting question. I would imagine that in the short term it would skew toward non-college and in the long term it would reach about the same equilibrium that it is at now.

Some people don't like professional sports at all and strictly only follow College Athletics, some people only follow high school sports and some people only follow professional sports, but all Alabama fans only follow teams that are winning.

I like the fans who cheer for Bama in football and Kentucky in basketball.

Why limit that to Alabama fans? For the most part when it comes to sports on all levels, that's the case. It's human nature and few programs are going to fill seats if the team is sub .500.

more high school players in our country will go to college

It doesn't surprise me at all that Bama fans think this. Yet there are Bill and Browns fans. Gamecock football fans pre-Spurrier. South Carolina follows basketball very closely. Kentucky fans care about football. State fans care about all of their sports, they've never really been good at anything other than baseball.

I have been around college sports half a decade and can tell you Bama fans have always been this way. It wasn't to long ago before Saban that Bama football had a tough time selling out home games

Softball Attendance Figures -2014
2015 figures aren't out yet, but Alabama led the nation in softball attendance in 2014. The third straight year they've led. Our average is double that of third best Tennessee.
Try again. The figures might be slightly inflated, but they're fairly accurate. Alabama and Florida paved the way for the rest of the SEC to be great at softball. Tennessee as well, but they don't have a title to show for it.

It's rare. For the most part, programs around the country lack support unless they're successful.

Explain Texas A&M, Clemson, UCLA, Michigan State, Washington, and Texas Tech football, for instance.
