If Alabama scores a TD, it's a 2 score game. If they kick the FG and Alabama scores a TD, it's still a 1 score game.

But I'm perfectly fine with opposing coaches playing like it's the last drive of the game and leaving points on the field.

I think they would have taken the FG if they were getting the ball first in the 2nd half. Going for it was the right call.
