I never realized how close there games were (good or bad) except for Western Carolina and Tennessee. They completly kicked the sh*t outta the Vols.

Alabama-52 W. Carolina-6
Alabama-24 Vandebilty-10
Alabama-41 Arkansas-38
Georgia-26 Alabama-23
Florida State-21 Alabama-14

Alabama-30 Houston-24
Alabama-27 Ole Miss-24
Alabama-41 Tennessee-17
LSU-41 Alabama-34
Mississippi State-17 Alabama-12
ULM-21 Alabama-14
Auburn-17 Alabama-10
Alabama-30 Colorado-24

I think we will see more of the same from Alabama this upcoming season. They will not get blown away from any opponets, but I do not see them kicking much arse either. They'll compete and battle teams, but not enough to the SEC Champ.

i really lost money on that UT-Bama game. blowouts are so rare in the SEC. i honestly think the refs keep it that way i.e. 2007 LSU and 2006 Florida. that's my conspiracy theory of the day.

Agreed.

Bama has got to get into a winning mindset. In the past, Alabama would always expect to win the close ones, and to an extent, so did their opponents. Not any more. Our teams have to start winning those close ones, if they expect to start competing for conference titles again. I expect this year to be similar to last year. Probable 5 loss season before bowl, with a hope to steal 1 or 2 from Clemson, Tennessee or Auburn and maybe end the regular season with 4 losses, 3 on an outstanding year.

There are a couple of ways to look at Bama last year. One is that they never lost by more than a td. That was the same as in 2006 and something many Bama fans point too. Hell, even Shula pointed out and said several times how "close" Bama was to turning the corner. In my opinion, it reflects the point that they have and have had decent talent.

Then there is another way of looking at it. Bama picked up at least two wins they did not deserve. The refs absolutely changed the outcome of the game with the calls they made at the end of the Ark game. That game was a loss on the field. The Ole Miss game was debatable, but Saban getting a close call reversed without "undisputable" evidence won that game. I still say Bama only won four games on the field last year. Also, Houston could have beaten Bama without late mistakes and unfavorable calls. LSU was about to blow Bama out until about 72538 consecutive penalties called against them. The FSU game was not as close as the score looked - late TD made it respectable. Colorado would likely have won the game if they had a few more minutes left in the game.

So, more than one way to look at Bama in 2007.

If Bama can show up for the Clemson game and keep it close they could possibly win 9+. If they get beatdown by Clemson then we're going to enjoy a season like last year.

I made the edit. I just left out that I was referring to the Arky game. Those pass int calls and STOPPING the clock so Bama could get set up and score last was a travesty to poor ole Arky who deserved to win the game.

There were a shocking number of blowouts last year. Most of them involved us, for better or worse. Florida-UT, Bama-UT, UT-Georgia, and UT-Arkansas.

I usually enjoy your posts AU83 because you're usually objective but that one statement is hilarious IMO. Should the NCAA start making CFB games 62 minutes instead of 60 so that teams will have more time to come back?

They tried hard in the LSU game but you dummies forgot about the replay official.

In AU, we have a different fund set up for each.

Point taken about Colorado. The collapse by Bama in that game was just pretty incredible in the second half.

I couldn't believe they almost gave that game away! I expected Arky to come back with McFadden and Jones but not Colorado.

Flor/UGA was a blowout too. but that's all i can think of. aub/bama wasn't that close either. was ark/usc close? blowouts are not common in the sec these days. that's why it's so hard to bet the sec.

The worst call made in the Arkansas game was made by Houston Nutt when he made the call to pull Jones and McFadden out of the game when he needed a yard.

That was stupidity.

I think it was brilliant. Phil Fulmer made a wise decision too, not to keep going with Arian Foster.
