Hurt would be fine if he was being chased but lord no one is around him. This is getting rediculous. He has gotten worse with better protection than he had earlier in te season.

Oh they weren't? Just like they weren't at the end of the first half too?
There were three DBs around Norwood when he cost that first pass to begin the drive. Had AJ not thrown it on target, the ball probably would have been intercepted. The second throw to Norwood was over the head of a DB who had good coverage on Norwood. The DB just couldn't jump high enough to effect the play.
The third throw to Norwood was where he had a 10-yard cushion.

He's faced 2 good secondaries and struggled tremendously.

If you can't see that LSU ran 2 very different styles of coverages to end both the first & second half compared to the coverages deployed the rest of the game then I don't know what to tell you dude

The one play that they were in soft coverage for was Norwood's third catch.
Norwood's first catch was in between two guys. His second catch was over the top of an LSU corner. The guy did a horrible job of keeping him in front of him, if that was his job.
Finally, screens don't work that well against prevent defenses. Just a thought.
It's just a narrative invented by LSU fans to rationalize their loss.

Before the msu game CFN's Russ Mitchell had three separate sources confirm that mccarron has a slight ligament tear in his knee. Saban and mccarron's mom had a fit and Mitchell retracted his report
Don't be surprised if you read McCarron has his knee scoped in the offseason

They were in soft coverage the entire drive...
... Until that play when they rushed 7. Props to Bama's play calling to call the screen at the perfect time but to say AJ lead some kind of amazing drive alone is silly.
I'm not at all making excuses. Only commenting on what I saw.

Well tell that to your boy Randal Gay because he said LSU was in man with the safeties back which is how LSau should have played it. He said the prevent and soft Coverage was inaccurate. AJ pulled his head out of his butt for a drive and did what he had to. No such luck tonight.

Another sign that you didn't actually watch the game. They didn't rush anywhere near 7 people on that play.
Solid moral victory though.

AJ's been pretty mediocre the last two games

He was pretty good against good defenses last year. I think the injury to his throwing shoulder might be more of the problem.

Link?
They were not in true prevent I agree with that but they definitely were in softer coverage until they blitzed the house on the screen...

Nugget of knowledge. McCarron only needs one more touchdown pass to have the single season touchdown pass record. Was hoping he was gonna get it on the final drive. :sigh

How many did we rush exactly then genius?
And to think I thought I was having an intelligent discussion with a Bama fan. Nope. Pure delusion 24/7. Carry on.

5. Not sure why this is confusing. The game was on TV.

Forgive me for not wanting to re-watch the play nor study it to the level that article breaks it down. I think you can understand why.
Nonetheless, I believe LSU's defensive play calling cost them the game. Props to Bama for dialing up the right play calls in crunch time. I am never one for moral victories. You guys made enough plays to get it done.
But to say AJ hasnt had major folding issues to the past 2 games is crazy. 93 yards passing up to that point of the game.

I figured our defense was just shell shocked that an inferior team was mounting an unlikely come back..
