Hard to say. What will happen when he gets more pocket pressure in the NFL? I think that might be be the key. Also, college and pro games are so different.
I remember when J. Russell was drafted #1, and one of the Oakland defenders (Oakland usually has a better defense than offense) said, "yes, he has a strong arm. So did Aaron Brooks." He kind of gave the impression that he knew Russell would not be an all-star like everyone was touting him to be.

That's not much of a stretch considering he threw 30 touchdown passes in 2012. He also broke the SEC record for TD:INT ratio set by Peyton Manning in 1997.

McCarron has one of the quickest releases in all of college football. What are you guys watching. He does wind up some on his deep balls, but again its more of a mechanics issue and compensating for bad knee after the MSU game.
You can't have a quick release with a long wind up you dumb arse. Good god.

Managing the game is the most important aspect of QB. Lots of QBs lack this trait. Tony Romo and Aaron Murray come to mind 1st. Its why neither will ever win every thing.

Then you're an idiot.
In this thread he clearly says AJ will be a first rounder and a good NFL starter.

He had a quick release on middle and long range throws. On short throws, for some reason, he does a long wind up.
< ---- Has seen every throw he's thrown at Bama. Trust me when I say his release is fine.

I dont think that AJ's delivery is long at all...
It isn't. If you want to see a long throwing motion, watch Tebow.

Archie Manning, buddy, and you'd better believe it.

His release on all his intermediate throws is elite. His mechanics are not good on his deep throws and he gears up to throw them and places to much air under some of them. Some of that stems from his bum knee and not wanting to plant hard on it.
If you wanna have a serious discusion keep the name calling to a minimum or don't respond to my post.

He'll be a first rounder regardless. When you threepeat and have all of the intangibles and 98% of the tangibles that's how it works.

he said that he would be able to COMPETE for a starting job. and you are stupid if you think that AJ being a first rounder is out of the realm of possibility. You need to quit sticking steroid needles in your arse. Its making you dumb.

Well that does it... it's settled. No need for the NFL scouts to evaluate him.

Rickdaddy is far from being an NFL scout.

Come on. At age 22 you either have an elite arm or you don't.
Tom Brady didn't have one at 22. Now he does.

Well, it's settled.
According to Alabama fans, he will be drafted in the first round, has an elite arm, will be an all-pro, and win 3 super bowls.
According to LSU fans, he will go 2nd round at best, horrible release, holding a clip board.

Rickydaddy, maybe you should pump the brakes a little bit.
Posted on 1/9/13 at 1:30 pm to FlukerFlakes
But what is important is you don't have to have an elite arm, AND it's becoming easier to be a QB in the NFL with all of the offensive schemes out there.

He threw 30 TDs this year with only 3 INTs.
Bama returns every single WR and gets White back and Black off injury.
AJ will throw for a ton of TDs next season
