Yes and they still can't win with the "12th" man.

eaTme fanbase stuck in the past.

Bragging about events of 20+ years ago while wanting NO part of LSU now.

What the Bammers sounded like pre-$aban, and will sound like once he gets enough & bails.

Pretty pathetic.

A&M-LSU series at Tiger Droppings

Look what happens before most of the breaks in the series...

Every time LSU loses at least 2 in a row to the Ags, LSU backs out. fricking pussies.

Since I have been at LSU (undergrad and grad school) I have seen:
-2 Football National Championships
-2 Football SEC Championships
-2 Basketball SEC Championships (regular season)
-1 Final Four appearance
-1 Baseball National Championship
-2 SEC Baseball Championships(regular season)
-2 SEC Tournament Baseball Championships

I don't give a flying frick what those wannabes in BFE think about us. We've got bigger things to take care of than deal with those posers.

No, I don't believe this. No way they have a football team. None.

LSU backed out of a series

LSU didn't really back out of anything. It was a 10 year series that had run it's course. It was time for LSU to move on...we were now playing in the expanded SEC, A&M was going into the Big12, the BCS changes were comming...and to be honest, we needed another guaranteed home game "win".

As has been stated, LSU and A&M had a 10 yr contract. At some point during the contract we agreed to an evergreen extension that had different cancelation terms. When the SEC expanded to twelve teams, they also went to the 8 game SEC slate (4 home, 4 away). LSU needed 7 home games for financial purposes. In an eleven game season, playing a home and home with A&M wasn't viable any more, so we gave notice to cancel.

However we continued the series for a few more years. Whether this was because we were good guys who helped out A&M with their scheduling problems, or because the contract language in the original 10 yr contract made it difficult to find a suitable replacement, I don't know. However, at the 4 year point into the expanded SEC, it was time to shite or get off the pot. At this point we had completed the original 10 yr contract and we were in the extension and we gave notice and paid the fine accordingly.

The source of all the bullshite is the A&M Athletic Dept. They have publicly stated that LSU breached the contract and that the reason they have not sued is because they couldn't win in LA. There may be an honest difference in interpretation of the contracts, but them not sueing on a breech of contract tells me that it is not clear cut at all.

I've never understood their position on this. LSU sponsoring A&M into the SEC may have something to do with it. There was a lot of political fallout on A&M for even considering it. I believe their President was sued for malfeasance. The case may have been much broader, but one of the issues was him not reimbursing the school for the personal use of their plane. After a meeting in BR to discuss the move to the SEC, he continued to a wedding in NO (may have been a family wedding and had family members with him). I don't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure Joe Dean had to tesify at his trial.

It reminds me of the Aggie who locked the keys in his car, and it took him nearly 3 hours to get his family out.

one would think the fanbase/alumni of A&M would be more concerned about the horrible tenure of their recently fired President, and the overall direction of their college as a whole these days...

The Aggies take the cake for the most insane and delusional fan base I've ever encountered.

This is true. I work with about 20 of them and my g/f works with about the same and they are simply retarded. I had one brag about their 2009 Track and Field Championship the other day. His comments were somewhere along the line of, "Our football team is going to follow in their steps and win one this year."

I would much more prefer LSU vs A&M every year than LSU vs Tulame.

It would be about the same competition but a better name attached. An A&M beating looks better on the scoreboard ticker than a Tulane
beating, even though A&M is no better than Tulane

Indiana Tiger: very informative post, thank you.

I would love to play A&M again every year. I think we should do it in Houston, kinda like the Red River Shootout is in Dallas every year.

That game would only help us recruit in the Houston area. And quite frankly, A&M does NOT want to get beat down year in, year out in the city with the largest portion of their alumni and fanbase.

Likewise, but aTm signing a 10-yr. deal with UArk will keep LSU away for a while, which I'm sure their program insiders are happy about.

Their AD has stated he doesn't want to give LSU any more opportunities to recruit TX, but it's not like the Tigers are unknowns in this state, & Coach Miles is starting to make some real noise recruiting the DFW area. Started with Big Herm, now need Ron Brooks & Chancey Aghayere to keep it rolling.
