Small update from my earlier posts. I'm almost done with The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook and have really enjoyed it. The craziness of the floor has been fun to try and figure out.
We may be in the minority here but our 11 year old has one.

He has a couple games that have a 1 hour timer on them. He has no Internet Browser app, no YouTube, and no social media. He can ask Siri questions, but no open internet option. Everything is essentially locked until 8am and then locks again at 8pm (unless he's out with friends).

He can always request things but once he's out of time or in the dead period at home, it's useless. It's come in handy when we goes to a friends house. He can always communicate with us and we tell the parents ahead of time so they know.

With book three don't worry about trying to remember all the details of the railway systems, there's no point in trying to keep up with it. It'll make the reading easier if you just go with the flow.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I just started it this morning.

I also noticed the books are going to get longer. Is that because of expanded storylines and longer times on floors?

I could see you feeling that way for the first quarter of the second book, but not sure I can see how the circus plot is slow exactly. I can kinda see what you mean with the side quest feel, but none of the rest of the books have them rolling around exploring cities and picking up random quests if that's part of your problem.

But what you are thinking of being side quests actually tie in pretty huge to the end of that book (which ends with a bang) and the circus plot ties in big with a future book.

Books 5-8 are better than 1 by a fair bit though, and there is no real side quest feel to anything. I'd say 3 and 4 are better in that regard too, as they have straight forward goals for the levels in those books.

All good to hear. I plan to continue listening either way because I am hooked and will need to finish them. Book 2 has just felt a little different from the banger of Book 1. I'm excited to keep going though.

Just feel like Book 1 was non-stop from the collapse all the way to the descent to Floor 3. Book 2 feels like the side quests and continued development with Mordecai is just slower.

It's like playing Diablo and going from Dungeon to Dungeon for 5 hours and then spending the next 5 in a town going shop to shop.

Finished Book 1 (Audiobook) last week and am about 3/4 of the way through Book 2.

Do the remaining books have the same slower pace as Book 2? Granted, there is a lot going on with the 3rd floor, but I feel like it is dragging a little.

Still enjoying it and the narration is the best part.

I'm about halfway through the first book and have really enjoyed it so far. I'm listening to the Audible version and really like the narrator.

3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre

1. Halloween
2. Alien

1. Jaws
2. The Thing

The weekend should be mostly dry, but we cannot entirely rule out a pop-up shower or very rogue thunderstorm. Otherwise, it’ll be spring swampy with highs well into the 80s to perhaps near 90 degrees and plentiful humidity.

I wonder when was the last time an Arizona meteorologist used the words "spring swampy" to describe their spring weather.

My in-laws have one off Lee and Orchid St with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Believe it's listed as "3 Bed + 2 Bath Cottage".

When I used to travel a lot for work I looked forward to 2-3 nights of eating by myself and chatting it up with locals at the bar.

This was pretty much my experience as well. Kids (10 and 11) loved it. I thought it could have been better and felt like this should have been the 3rd or 4th installment, not the second.

They should have went the Sonic route and just introduced one character at a time. A Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi movie would have been just fine. They didn't need everything else.

Bowser was the best part again.
Really has been a great month of The Rewatchables. I usually rewatch these on Sunday nights and try to drag my wife in to watch as well. She usually half watches unless it's one of Bill's Rom-Coms he likes so much.

I've seen Sicario and Fargo probably 5 times each and yet when I listened to the episodes I had to go back and watch them again. Great content.

I had never seen To Live and Die in LA, so that was an adventure. The Wang Chung bits were great.

The Nice Guys deserved an episode at some point. The writing in that movie is so good and Gosling was just fantastic.

I haven't seen LA Confidential in 20 years so I'm curious to see how it holds up.

I followed along on Trevor Bauer's YT channel when he played down there a couple years ago and enjoyed a lot of the insight he provided.
I think the only ones to make it to a screen would be:

1) Harrenhal
2) Storm's End Campaign
3) Field of Fire
4) Meeting in the North
5) Corronation at Oldtown

It really is better set up as one 10 episode series.
I have a single Mevo that connects to my phone to stream my kids baseball and basketball games. It has worked in Texas Summer without any issues. Every now and then we play at a field or a gym that his limited cell reception/no wi-fi and the stream can get choppy, but that's about it. Most big locations here around Houston have wi-fi which is helpful.

I add on a battery pack that keeps both the phone and Mevo charged through 2-3 games/day.

One camera is plenty for what I use it for which is streaming for family outside of town. I've seen multi-cam setups and just couldn't justify the cost.

I didn't see the need in investing in a hot spot when my phone can do the same.

Starting to worry about this since Season 4 is the end. So much to get done in 2 seasons at the pace they've been going. Feel like something big has to be cut and this might be it.
Favorite part is hearing Aerion call out Hardyng in the voice of Viserys Targaryen.

Lloyd does an awesome job as the narrator.
