Yes it’s about y’all’s cheers. But WTH is this mess? What’s with the feminine sounding “whoops?” What’s with gay club techno dance hand movements? Are these cheers or parts of Madonna’s “Vogue” routine?

Yeah, well back in the old army days, the school was just a small land grant college, with the all male student body being the corps of cadets.
The yell leaders were the entertainment. A bit cheerleader, story teller, etc. The whole walking and back forth thing started because they were literally standing on the steps of the old YMCA building. It’s supposed to be all in good fun. It’s not supposed to look cool or be taken all that seriously.
None of that really makes sense or translates to today. Nobody ever really cared what they looked like. It’s just old fashioned stuff.
I mean, is the yellow hammer and other stuff you Bammers chant really all that cool? Not giving you a hard time, but it’s just something y’all do.
