I love this TAMU - Arkansas Rivalry

The sane Aggies are outstanding, the insane Aggies are even better. It's a win/win. The really funny ones are sane, who know how to be insane, and then switch back. This has been a great week.

Stripes - maybe someday, we can get something like this setup between Missouri and Arkansas. Be advised now, your band will not play halftime in Fayetteville, you can't yell in a Sams Parking Lot, and you can't bring a Tiger. We cool?

A large number of you are just ignorant assholes. Go ahead and make fun of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. Do they have some unusual traditions - yes - absolutely. However the Corps of Cadets has produced more US Military Officers than any other university in the US other than the US Service Academies. Former members of the Corps of Cadets have earned more Medal of Honors than any other University in the US. The Corps of Cadets has produced more General Officers than any other university. Go ahead, call the Corps gay if it helps you ignorant little mind feel better.

As for me: nothing could have prepared me better than Texas A&M and the Corps of Cadets to spend 25 years in the USMC in service of our country.

For those that can't understand... piss off.

I've dealt with military officers. A lot are dumbasses. I'm assuming they went to A&M.

Highly doubtful since your "yell leaders' fit really well in South Beach.

.. and wondering as to when was the last time TAMU played in Miami?

I know. Mist of them have never served. Kinda pisses meoff they hide behind the ones that have.

But most officers I dealt with were arrogant couch nozzles.

I bet if they only brought a pep band it would be ok

Therefore it is on A&m. Your "come one come all" policy is to blame, not ours. If you did what every other school does it would be a non issue. but you think a&m is above everyone else

Say it ain't so! The SEC really isn't the hardcore football Mecca it claims to be?

To be fair, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have the same issues in a lot of places. I doubt Knoxville would care or TTown or even most of the traditional SEC schools. I worked on the Strip for a year when I was a student at UT. And game week parties started Thursday but went wild from Friday onward and stayed open well past midnight (sometimes longer than we was strictly legal, especially Fridays and Saturdays). You'd be more likely to encounter people who hadn't had an hour sober since the week began than any issues regarding rolling up the sidewalks.

Unfortunately, between Knoxville's quest to develop businesses downtown (that's where the money is and few university students vote) and the poor economy the Strip is a shadow of what it once was. I blame then Mayor (now Governor) Haslam whose base was outside the city limits and largely composed of developers to a large degree and a city council so corrupt it was and remains ridiculous. These same folks killed Old City's which for a time was thriving in favor of Market Square which is within spitting distance but owned by wealthy interests and in close proximity to the banks and other major moneymakers. Haslam also had his own real estate investments including Market Sq.

Even still there are places to go both on the Strip and in Old City as well as all the way out West where the rich folk live.

On an ironic note, given the topic... I remember when Arky fans visited and I took care of them. Not only did I wear their hoghat despite protesting but I also called the hogs for them -- they were good people and I saw no harm in it and even had a good time.

BTW, what's up with the band prohibition?

One quick point on this mascot issue

I can ( just barely) see the point of not wanting an opposing mascot to urinate or defecate on your field. I can certainly see how that concern (if it were actually valid) would apply to a pig or a cow or a tiger or some other non-companion animal. They are seldom housebroken.

I do not, however, see how the same concerns apply to a highly-trained dog. Hell, Rev goes to CLASSES with her handlers. I hardly think that she (or Georgia's beast) is likely to be laying any turds in your grass.

If she were to do so, I am fairly certain that the mascot corporal would have a Baggie waiting in his pocket.

Blacknblu - If you are referring to me then you sir are incorrect. I am a retired Officer of the USMC. If you are not referring to me then please disregard.

Oh trust me, our series will get ridiculous quicker than people think. Especially in the Ozark area.

Band was welcome, just couldn't play halftime show.

That's my take from this - guys, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
