I'm sorry, but there's no empirical evidence that A&M can or will be an elite program.

You have not been paying attention.

What are the elements of an elite program?

List them.

Recruiting, player development, game planning, in game coaching, facilities, winning culture come to mind immediately. A&M clearly has many of these pieces. But they have not been forged into a whole as of yet.

Can they? Absolutely. Will they? Don't know.

1a. Don't lose 4 games a year
1b. Win 10 games a year for several years in a row.
2. Win a division title
3. Win a confernce title
4. Make CFP
5. Win CFP

If they're at A&M, then why haven't you been more successful? You have a supposedly elite, top tier coach now, why has he been decidedly average in 4 years on the job? Why has every coach ever been average or much worse at Texas A&M?

If it were just one class, you would have a point, but that's not the case.

2019 - #4
2020 - #6
2021 - #8

This tells me you have not been paying attention.

I'm paying attention. Here's the problem- there are 2 programs in your own conference that have recruited quite a bit better over the same time period. And Jimbo doesn't scare either of them. In fact class 4, 6, and 8 delivered an 8-5 season this year. It's really really hard to get where you want to go.....trust me, us Dawg fans know.

These certainly are achievements, but what I asked for is elements that make such achievements possible.

Why does Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State keep winning? What's the recipe?

When you start listing out the elements you realize that few have as much as A&M, including some on the list above, which is why it has been such a mystery and inexplicable level of underachievement.

“ Honestly, this is what I'd be most worried about if I was an Aggie. I'm not sure Fisher can consistently be elite, he hasn't really shown he can be.”

How elite is your coach? Just checking.

I hear you. It is a different challenge.

However, in the past we were trying to win without all that top notch talent. So this is a welcome challenge/change.

This is not rocket science. Everyone knows what needs to be done. Only a few can consistently do it (e.g. Nick Saban). We won our championships in 2007 and 2019 based mostly on superior talent. But you cannot rely on that year in and year out. And that is why Saban eventually regains the upper hand after he has a setback. He has a very well defined system to overcome those shortfalls.

Considering the fact that we have not had this level of recruiting in a long time suggests that this year is not an outlier. This has been the trend.

I know it takes a hell of a lot to get to the top. No question. People who believe that A&M does not the elements to get there are those who are not paying attention.

Let's do it this way.

Name one aspect of Georgia's program that is better than A&M's.

I am not saying that A&M is better than Georgia. I am simply talking about the elements. What does Georgia have that A&M lacks?

I’ve never seen Georgia run scared from wake forest. Not a troll. Quitting like that shows your program overall has no chest.

Well, then, it shouldn't be too hard to list some advantages, right?

When you break it down to this level, you start to see why you haven't been paying attention.

Less in-state competition for recruits. Though, I’m not sure it matters as much as it used to.

Thank you for ONCE AGAIN responding with this deflection. You can just type "troll" and we will all know you're talking about the Gator Bowl. It'll save you lots of time.

Can't argue with you. Definitely takes more than a great recruiting class or two to win at an elite level. So much more goes into this.

It all has to start with thletes so we are off to a good start. LOOOOOONG ways to go.
