You really want to steer things that way?

Wild fires regularly occur in Texas. Tornadoes in Alabama, especially in major cities, are much more rare. I was just pointing out some aspects about Texas, wasn't trying to get into that kind of debate.

lol wut contradictions all up in dis bitch

Well since we went all pussy, I though I would go ahead and correct the record. Why not right?

And then, you proceeded to get all pussy and claim that UGA beats A&M IN ACADEMICS.

So, we're all a bunch of bleeding ax wounds.

For the record:

Texas A&M and Florida -- Tied at #58

Georgia -- #62

Who is yo :spank: DADDY ?!?!?!?!?!

only thing holding UGA back apparently is a med school. i know it is a prestigious award and i wish we had one but it isn't the only thing determining school quality and every other piece of literature you will find pertaining to this subject will only back up my claims

you ain't my daddy but apparently i am wrong

i prefer the tier system where vandy is tier 1, UF UGA and now apparently A&M are 2 and then the rest of the retards. that way UGA looks swagger.

i will admit defeat on this one, never thought i ever saw A&M on these lists

Do not even put Alabama, or Auburn for that matter, in the same category as those others.

From the article...

You realize that pretty graph has nothing to do with post-secondary education, right?

Nope, but ~64% are, and ~11% were too damn dumb to get into UF or Georgia.

For comparison TAMU has 50,000 students. We accept ~27% of applicants.
'Bama has 35,000 and accepts approximately 60%

Check it out.

Now we're resorting to state education rankings? I don't doubt that Alabama ranks low. Some very poor areas in the Black Belt and Wiregrass hurt any productivity in the metropolitan areas of the state.

Now, academic reputations and rankings of Alabama and Auburn put them around 4th and 5th in the SEC.

quote:

The University of Alabama has ranked among the top 50 public universities in the nation in U.S. News and World Report’s annual college rankings for more than a decade. UA is ranked 31st, its highest ranking ever, in the 2012 rankings.

The University of Alabama ranked 6th in the nation among public universities in the enrollment of National Merit Scholars in the 2010 freshman class.

Enrollment at The University of Alabama reached a record high of 31,747 for fall 2011. The entering freshman class, at 5,772 students, is the largest in UA history.

The University of Alabama has a dramatic impact on the economy of Alabama, returning three dollars for every one dollar invested in the University by the State. UA each year contributes $1.8 billion to the state’s economy.

The UA School of Law is ranked 35th in the nation in U.S. News and World Report’s 2012 edition of the annual “Best Graduate Schools” publication. The Manderson Graduate School of Business ranks 32nd among public universities and 63rd among all universities, in the same publication.
