Wilson beating out Mallet is what I think will happen. Wilson was not even recruited by the last staff. He was headed to Tulsa to play for Gus. It remains to be seen how Wilson can transform to a prostyle system. the only recent situation we've seen of a staff doing that is? IMPRESS ME WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!
I know you're wanting to get someone to give Nutt credit for Mustain being 8-0 at Arkansas; but that's not gonna happen. Well established that even though the TEAM went 8-0 Mitch himself sucked. Proof can be found at USC's depth chart. Not just USC either. IF he had stayed at Arkansas he would currently be 3rd, maybe even 4th on the depth chart, assuming Mallet transferred which isn't likely.
Geez don't you EVER tire of sucking his cock?

Arkansas won in 2006 b/c they had a quality front 7 on defense and Dmac and Felix. Fortunatly Mustain didn't lose any games but had he not been pulled when he was he would have lost SC, TN, LSU.

LOL - You better ask around, I'm retired and have PLENTY of time to research my points. If I tell you Nutt is not a good coach, not a bad coach, but a mediocre coach, you best damn believe I can produce 10GB of research and numbers to show you exactly that. And seeing as how I am a trained historian I would imagine that I have a pretty good grasp on researching and presenting evidence. If you wish to discuss something, name the topic and present your case, I'm sure I'll disagree and will be happy to pimp slap you all around this forum as the other posters continue to laugh at your stupidity.

Bcs I like your confidence but you have done a poor job of that so far. If I disagree with something you say from now on I'll let you know. But I haven't been paying much attention to what you say.

I love how you dismiss his challenge by way of insult. Very smart on your part unless he doesnt take the bait. You should probably bring a talking point for debate up unless you just want to get into a pissing contest though.

Mallett will be a top 3 NFL pick when it is all said and done...

There are a couple things you have to look out for with Mallet. During spring practice this year when he was struggling Petrino said in a report after practice that Mallet has to stop getting down on himself. Apparently he was getting down on himself when things weren't going well and contributing to other things not going well. This was happening against the worst Defense in the SEC so that doesn't bode well for having to face stout SEC defenses. And, if you have any common sense about football you know QB's that get down on themselves during adverse times won't be any good. How do his peers respond? Qb's are suppose to be leaders. That doesn't sound like a leader to me.
Mallet has a reputation as a big partier. He's already been arrested for public intox on a downtown fayetteville night club street. It sounds like he was by himself at the time which leads you to believe he doesn't have many friends. Prior to that incident there were alot of "party" rumors. A local Arkansas radio talkshow host was interviewing an ex-teammate who said something to the effect of, he had the potential to be good if he could keep his head on straight. And he emphasized "if". There are also reports that he dropped a weight on his hand weight lifting this offseason and broke his throwing hand finger. A person does not find their hand against a hard surface and with hand #2 raised above hand #1 drop a weight on it. Something very bizzare happend, or something very simple that was covered up.
I hope Mallet turns out to be great. He has the physical tools. But his other entangibles are very questionable.

We lost to LSU, Florida, and Wisconsin without him. That's 60% of our last 5 games. We won 2 out of 6 without him starting. That's not a would have, a could have, or a should have Rebeldamus. I'm not a Mustain fan. Your spin is flawed.

Really, a trained historian? Did you make your living as a historian, teacher, professor or some similar proession?
If so, I'd love to hear more about it.
Apologies to everyone, no intention to disrail the thread but since TD does not offer personal messages this will happen occasionally.

That may be the case, but that's pretty bold considering he's taken 0 SEC snaps.
I think he'll be solid, but his intangibles will help determine how successful he is as a SEC QB.
How much of a leader is he? Is he mobile enough to make plays with his legs? Will his teammates respect him or try to fight him? Will he stay out of trouble off the field?
All legit questions, IMO.

Mallett is still an unknown on a lot of levels but has the tools necessary to be very successful. It will be interesting to see if he can put it together.
If he doesn't produce, I feel good with them putting Wilson in there. The kid seems solid.
