That might be worse. If you're doing state business on a private phone, the state might have a compelling argument that your phone records be subpoenaed. If you've got a phone that you think is private, god help you if you have a court order telling you to turn it over.

This. I used to use the shorthand a lot until I wrote a paper for class and caught myself writing in shorthand. Since then I try to not do it as much unless I'm busy and trying to text quickly.
