What does that matter? I said half of its carriers hadn't picked it up and that's what happened. Those carriers still bring a ton of money for Disney. Again, ACCN is going to get picked up. Disney has too much leverage for it get hung out.

Are you satisfied with the A&M-related content broadcast on the SEC Network, or do you feel like a maroon-headed step-child who got used to venture into the Texas television market?

For instance, are you satisfied that historical Aggie games get fair play? Do you think your sports teams get fairly televised on the main outlet instead of pushed to an alternate channel that not everyone gets?

Which is why Comcast picked up the Longhorn Network...oh wait...it still hasn't done so 8 years later.

Absolutely, unequivocally and without hesitation!

Since the SEC Network launched, a grand total of two A&M football games have been put on the SEC Alternate Channel. Two...in 6 years. I can count on one hand the number of A&M basketball and baseball games combined that I have not been able to watch live due to content providers dealing with the HOST SCHOOL.

Let's contrast that with the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Between those two seasons, A&M had 10 games that weren't televised anywhere and were only available live or by radio.

The schools aren't the ones who own and are pushing the network. The frick?

You named a total of five carriers that had not picked it up until August. There are a total of 409 cable providers across the U.S and 5 primary satellite providers.

5 out of 412 is much less than "half"

ESPN made them pay for everything

If the network fails it is the schools and conference holding the bag and not ESPN.

Yeah, LHN and ACCN are totally a 1 to 1 comparison. Take the L and move on my dude.

Are we talking about the ACC Network? If so, that's probably a warning shot to the North Carolina and Northeast schools in the conference.

After further review, your own comment invalidates this:

"Disney has too much leverage for it get hung out."

If Disney has too much leverage, how is it that the company that provides content to nearly 40% of the U.S. still hasn't picked up their network unless they secretly WANT it to fail?

Yes.

I already know what is going to happen.

Some schools need to be cut loose.

Difference is the LHN is for one school and the ACC for 14 1/2

That is a lot of mouths to feed especially ones that have been spending money they don't have.

That's the exact same way the SECN was created. Disney/ESPN is who controls the network. They decide what goes on it. Disney/ESPN makes all the deals. They are the ones driving the bus here. They are the ones doing the negotiating. They are the ones who can hold their other Disney properties over carrier's heads and because Disney own networks are (for the most part) the most watched on cable they will win out.

I doubt you'll see a single Notre Dame football game on the ACC Network. Way too much murkiness to make that work.

You forgot the revenue split. The SEC Network is split 15 ways, not 14. ESPN gets the 15th share.

They still get a share because the network owns their third tier rights in other sports.

Again, trying to make a 1 to 1 comparison with LHN and ACCN is asinine. The gulf in the amount of content the ACCN will have compared to what LHN can provide is massive. LHN was also supposed be able to carry high school football which would have been how ESPN courted carriers outside of Texas. Once that got nuked the channel was fricked. ESPN won't be renewing that deal and at best will try to roll it into a Big 12 Network. Texas just does not have enough content to provide for it's own network.

Just with football alone the ACCN will air more games by this mid-season than LHN has in it's entire existence.

The importance is revenue.

Does the ACC generate enough revenue for all schools.

I don't see it.

It is pretty much another PAC 12 network.

No, I didn't forget it. It's just not relevant to the what I was responding to.

Either way, it's not an even 15 part split. It's roughly 50/50 with the SEC schools splitting up their 50% with the 14 schools. ESPN is making way more off the network than the individual schools are.

Not even close to the PAC 12 Networks.

There are SIX PAC 12 Networks, one for each member state.

Let me repeat: PAC 12 Networks are six distinct channels. Instead of trying to get providers to pick up one channel, they keep insisting on all six, which is why DirecTV still hasn't budged.
