I would advocate for Auburn to go to the ACC so we could be among our academic peers instead of with these SEC philistines, but I sure af would want to keep Bama as an annual OOC opponent.

And for the record, we received an invitation from the SEC, not from the ACC.
Such a possibility (ACC affiliation) is an interesting discussion, but a moot point.

This has nothing due with UT, but everything to due with the SECW. If A&M played in the East from the beginning, their program would be light years ahead. The fact that they have to beat their chest for beating an average LSU team in 7 OTs, lets you know that they still have a long way to go. I have said it before, when you have weeks to prepare for big games, you will look much better than you really are. It is true in the ACC, Big 12 and SECE.

Not that it matters in any way, but, A&M was a college before Texas existed, but Texas is an older University.
Threads like this are silly. From outside the state, Texas is viewed as the superior academic university, the superior sports university, and it is in a much better town. If you prefer the culture of A&M, or the small-town feel, good for you. But the Aggie football team hasn't done anything that matters in any of our lifetimes.
