I just hate shitty OOC games. I want a nine game SEC schedule, and I'd like for every team in this fine conference grow some balls and play serious OOC competition. if you really don't want Texas all the time, fine. but for gods sake, play real OOC games. you should be playing and want to be playing teams along Texas' level.
You're missing the point of this.
Our OOC games will get better. It's been shitty because of the conference switch. Nobody likes it, least of all Aggies, but it is what it is for the time being.
Aggies have the biggest cojones of any school in the state in that we left the conference. In return, the horns blackballed us on their schedule and flat out intimidated any other big 12 school into not scheduling us as well.
There are other places to get quality OOC than the big12. frick them.

Thats what I mean WBS - they don't mean it because it doesn't make logical sense. So:
They are either lying out of fear of the Aggie invasion which is understandable;
or they are idiots.
There is no #3

You obviously have such a large understanding on this very simple issue. Someone call the new sip AD and get Hyman on the phone. You seem to know everything

It would benefit aTm to play Texas more than ags want to admit too.
There is ZERO benefit to us playing them. The ONLY reason they've softened their stance in austin is because they realize just what a monster we are to recruit against when the playing field is level (something it's never been in the history of the rivalry).

Explain to me the benefits to us.

The quality of that conference isn't what it used to be anyways.

I already explained it above. Re-read it.
If you don't get it already you are either lying or stupid - either way no reason to debate.

Their own fans agree with us:

When I blunder into interacting with aggies the subject always comes up, and I always say the same thing: "You guys are fricking crushing it, I thought the SEC thing would be a massive fricking, but I was wrong, you've got the hot corch, a heisman gotdamn trophy, a new identity out of our shadow. You have made a quantum leap into your own separate national identity away from us. Why the frick would you want to remind yourself and others of your old identity as little brother? Thanksgivings with LSU, new rivlries with Bama, Georgia, Florida, etc. Go forth, do your own thing, it's going great, a lot better than I thought it would. The last thing you want is a relationship with us, and all those old associations."

There are few rivalries in the nation as toxic as A&M/t.u.
Iron Bowl
Civil War
The Game
are on the short list.

Wow, that's telling it like it is

I will say this: there are delusional fricks in every fanbase, but actual texas exes that I've talked to echo those sentiments for the most part. But they always get shouted down by the mouthbreathing bandwagoners that t.u. is known for.

A marquee game every season that every major recruit in Texas is going to watch, or at the very least be aware of.
Game would regularly garner national attention, especially the first couple
Chance to prove on the field that aTm is in fact better than UT now.
Give me some reasons why its a bad decision for aTm to renew the rivalry. And also some ways in which Texas has been able to take advantage of aTm off the field.
There are some USC fans that feel this way about scheduling UNC since we had a similar situation when we were in the ACC. Obviously we couldn't schedule them every year but I like playing them every few years

Irrelevant--major recruits in Texas watch SEC games, and A&M is already in this conference.
No benefit.

We already get an embarrassment of national attention. Irrelevant.
No benefit.

The rankings speak for themselves. If we won, it'd be status quo for the SEC. If we lost a game, the recruiting swing would be massive in the sips' direction.
No benefit.

They have already been enumerated by the Aggies in this thread.

Border War was up there, not better than any of those, though..
Is there an official name for the UT tamu rivalry?
Cool awesome amazing fun city vs tumbleweed town
Big Brother vs the napoleons
or
Steers vs Queers
