yeah, I'd be down if it didn't get part timers some more playing time and game situations. place would go wild if they did do it again though

It was Jackie Wayne "Tha Kang" Sherrill that started it. He continued it at Mississippi State

Sherrill instituted it at State. I tried out for a walk on spot and Watson Brown said he would buy my gas if I went away.

Texas Tech game in 1990. Some smurf sized KO returner ran through a hole that a truck could have been driven through. As the guy ran into the end zone, I turned to my cousin and told him that was the end of the 12th Man KO Team as we knew it.
After that it was reduced to the one guy.

i personally prefer the towel waiving at away stadiums b/c it means fans aren't using their energy to straight up holler and increase the noise level in the stadium

Rule changes pushing the kickoff from the 40 to the 35 (and later the 30) helped do it in, but the final nail in the coffin was probably when the federal Department of Education started counting "participation" numbers in Title IX assessments, rather than simply scholarships. That's why walk ons are limited now.
