Okay, you want a serious answer. Here goes.

The answer would be Mike Elko. But I don't think he will still be DC for us in 4 years. I think Temple offered him the head coaching job, but he turned it down. Some Power 5 school will probably try to hire him before then and make him a good offer.

If you want to restrict the question to players, the most important player to us having success this year (and next) is QB Kellen Mond. He reminds me of Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. There will be a couple of games he looks fantastic. But then he will play a couple of lackluster games and you wonder if Jimbo made the right choice. He needs to be more consistent for the Ags to improve on last year's season.

For once, I am thankful for our LSU brethren and their divine-given ability to completely destroy a thread.

You can't narrow it down to one player. You can identify one from certain position groups, but you can't put it all on one player. Offensive Backfield: Kellen Mond, Zach Calzada, James Foster or Haynes King Receivers and Tight Ends: Quartney Davis or Baylor Cupp Offensive Line: Luke Matthews or Kenyon Green Defensive Line: DeMarvin Leal Linebackers: Andre White Defensive Backfield: Elijah Blades Special Teams: Nicholas Constantinou

LOL Ive heard of ONE player in that whole list of crap. Kellen Mond. And he will be broke in half at LSU this year if he makes it that far.

The culture and talent level (recruiting) is 100% because of Jimbo.

Nonsense...A&M recruited well under Sumlin. I am assuming that it was your fantastic culture that had 5 star talent hitting the door with amazing regularity.

Why?
Are you asking for the name of a player?

Jimbo being the clear determining person, who would be the next biggest impact on the quest to break through..

Could be a player, staff or even an an AD/admin.

That was Sumlin's inability to control his locker room and the serious manipulation by boosters/parents trying to control the situation.

You've gotten the answer several times already in actual serious responses. What more are you looking for?

Outside of Jimbo (who leads the offense) it's Elko (who leads the defense).

Edit: If Elko does move on in the coming years (likely) then it most likely falls to whoever replaces Elko as D-coordinator.

A&M recruited offensive line, linebacker, tight end and defensive back horribly under Sumlin.

Is it any surprise that, after Mike Sherman's offensive line recruits, to include Germain Ifedi, only Erik McCoy was drafted...and only after a year under Fisher?
