Serious question, assuming real discussions regarding college football are still allowed... will all trollers wait til we get some authentic answers from the A&M faithful before one of you heathens adulterates the conversation? This is not a trap, I repeat.. this is not a trap. I promise.

Q: Removing Jimbo from the equation, which member of your football program plays the most important role of A&M getting to a national championship game in football over the next 4 years?

The Ags won’t sniff a natty with Jumbo at the helm.

Mike Elko or John Sharp. One really needs to stay, one really needs to go.

Why?
Are you asking for the name of a player?

FYI I’m sure you realize this, but this thread will be completely contaminated before it hits page 2.

ETA: Aaaannnd genuineLSUtiger jumped in as I was posting .

That’s a silly question. The culture and talent level (recruiting) is 100% because of Jimbo. That is what is going to lead to a natty. He’s built a good staff and i think Elkin is the most important coach not named Jimbo, but he’s not enough of a impact to win a title.

Not an ag but they have a pretty damn good QB

I also just think a&m is in too good of a division/conference. Similar to LSU. You play multiple top 10 teams every year, and one of them is always top 2, you’re gonna be worse than you would be in virtually any other era.

This conference is insane. It’s fun as shite, but also very frustrating. Fisher ain’t gonna go on runs like he did in the ACC imo.

A&M may get one. But I think if you do it will be when he is well into his contract. Just too much opposing talent to not drop a couple games every year. You really need a favorable schedule combined with some in-game breaks to do it if you aren’t bama.

Maybe if we could borrow some of the luck Auburn had in 2013 to get to a championship. At that point, we should win because Jimbo did that year too. ;)

A&M will win one before you whornes win another one.

How long from now will that be? Serious question.

A&M doesn’t win anything of significance. Texas busted UGAs arse in front of the nation a few months ago....jimbo won’t make a difference they had multiple top 10 classes with sumlin and even Johnny couldn’t get them a title shot. The Aggies know all this but they are one of the most delusional fan bases in all of sports.

That’s a good point. AU experienced one of the luckiest seasons, and likely the luckiest play in SEC history, and still didn’t win a title.

Jimbo cruised through the ACC and then beat an AU team that was maybe 3rd best, certainly at best 2nd best, in the SEC. with a heisman QB. He could not have had a better situation. The stars very much aligned. Good for him on recruiting and coaching though, he is very good. I’m just saying it takes a lot to win a title.

You can't narrow it down to one player. You can identify one from certain position groups, but you can't put it all on one player.

Offensive Backfield: Kellen Mond, Zach Calzada, James Foster or Haynes King

Receivers and Tight Ends: Quartney Davis or Baylor Cupp

Offensive Line: Luke Matthews or Kenyon Green

Defensive Line: DeMarvin Leal

Linebackers: Andre White

Defensive Backfield: Elijah Blades

Special Teams: Nicholas Constantinou

They had a top ten class with 31 signees in 2013 and a legitimate top five class in 2014. Sumlin managed to piss away the latter and the former "self-selected" other career paths.

7 of the 8 responses from A&M posters prior to you being your usual useless self were serious answers.

Obsession noted.

Edit: before you attempt to correct me by saying that 9 Aggies responded, one of those was to a shite eating meth addicted Sooner, not to the OP.

Almost all the downvotes the OP got were from LSU fans if you haven't figured that out yet.
