Did y'all retroactively change your founding date like Florida State did?

Here is the problem, and its a big problem... former SWC and Big 12 teams all want a piece of Texas. No one is lining up and saying "We want the Baylor Rapists or the Houston Nobodies."

Teams like Arkansas, A&M, Nebraska, and LSU can't all get on the schedule at the same time... unless we see a seismic shift in football conferences.

So Texas gets to be the biggest slut in Catholic High School. Everyone wants a dance even if she's a skank.

That also means, despite being a skankmonster, Texas can pick who it plays OOC. I am sure they will ask to play A&M in the regular season. Once the heat has died down.

The only way that A&M and Texas play again soon is if we continue to dominate them in recruiting within the borders of Texas. It isn't a coincidence that Herman is just now talking about it after he couldn't get a single good state of Texas recruit this year

He had to go OOS to fill his class, and it looks to be the same case next year. If that trend continues, then you will see the media start to push the narrative more and more

I agree. Rivalries and fan fare are what separate college football from the NFL.

Next year we are at Clemson, at UGA, at LSU, at Ole Miss have Bama, Auburn, Miss St. and South Carolina at home and Hogs in Dallas.

Pretty sure we don't need texass on our schedule.

Except for LSU and OU, texass has a relatively yawner of a schedule since WVU QB is gone and OSU, Tech, etc... aren't doing much. They won't have max capacity at their stadium but one time... possibly.

Oh, and small point, TCU has been better than both teams for a good portion of the last 15 years. And Baylor for a stretch.

Since 1984 Baylor and TCU have a combined 2 wins over A&M.

Baylor has two wins against you in the past 15 years and hasn't played A&M in the past seven years. They were ranked above A&M in 13, 14 and 15.

TCU hasn't played A&M in the last 15 years.

The final rankings certainly show that TCU would have been ranked above A&M a few times in the past 15 years.

Would have, could have, should have. TCU and BU rarely beat A&M, and certainly never did so even before 1984

Hey small fry, under any objective standard, the OPs statement that Texas and Texas A&M were the best programs in Texas simply wasn't true for each of the last 15 years.

It's a small point but relevant to the argument that the Texas and A&M rivalry are similar to Alabama and Auburn.

Texas and A&M are the biggest programs in Texas by quite a lot. TCU and BU are smaller private schools with very little influence, so it is relevant.

I'd like the schools to play, but I also can acknowledge that A&M doesn't need Texas anymore. So until they play in a bowl game, or the legislature gets involved, doubt it happens regularly.

I do expect a Bowl game to happen in the next couple of years
