Garrett was the number one rated rookie DL by a pretty good margin in 2017 per pff.

Or maybe the Eagles had a number of established and well paid players, like say Chris Long, Brandon Graham, and Vinny Curry at DE? It's almost like the Eagles had about 17-18 million tied up in DEs besides Derek Barnett for 2017.

Y’all probably shouldn’t have fired Butch, considering Barnett was obviously well prepared for the NFL.

Sacks by rookie DEs from the SEC:

Carl Lawson: 8.5
Myles Garrett: 7.0
Derek Barnett: 5.0
