A strong defense will enforce its will unless an offense has these 3 things

1. a strong offensive line
2. a capable, athletic, experienced QB
3. balance

A&M may have a great defense, but Arkansas’ offense has these 3 things. A&M D will have its moments, but on the balance Arkansas’ offense will win the day.

Arkansas 35
A&M 27

Missouri State had no problem with that offense

Against Missouri State:
385 yards passing
212 yards rushing

Problem was that Arkansas turned it over 3 times.

If we put up similar offensive numbers against aggie that we produced versus Missouri state we blow them out. Turning the ball over killed us last week.

So you’re predicting the Hogs to score more points in 1 game than have been scored combined on the Ags in 3 games? Bold prediction.

Last year against A&M, Arkansas put up 17 points in the first half and then KJ came out of the game with injury with a few minutes left in the second quarter.

I think you have a good assessment but I do think if A&M scores 27 we win. The only way we get into the 20s at all is if we are running the ball well. That would mean big problems for Hogs.

If Ags can't run the ball then we aren't scoring 20 points. In my estimation the key for Ags is our run game this weekend. Has not looked good at all so far.

What does last year have to do with this year?
Did last year have anything to do with the previous 8 years? No. The only longterm trend is it’s normally a very competitive game.

Passing game helps open up the running game and the Arky secondary is the worst in the country. Max isn’t a loose cannon like King. Arky leading the country in sacks is overstated IMO also. They have 17 and 8 of those came vs Southwest Missouri State. Hogs D-line looks legit but hopefully the Ag OL can start jelling with Foster back.

sane thing happened last year, or would have had kj stayed in the game.

BeerSlayer,

Previous 8 years doesn't matter because it's previous.
We're starting a new trend.

If Hogs can play with 7 or 8 in secondary then our passing game will suffer big time just like last year. Hogs DARED A&M to run last year and often had 3 on the line and we couldn't run.

If our running game is so bad that Hogs can play zone most of the game.... yikes.

Aggies have reached the red zone only 3 times in 3 games. If Ark can eliminate the big play they win.

all of this. you are 100% correct I don't think the aga can put up 27 at all. they couldn't against air. I'm not convinced they can run the ball, and the hogs will get home on 3rd down.

I have been thinking, but I haven't said this. I still believe the hogs will score 31-38 in this game and win. I believe the ags can only score 17, BUT if the ags can get a td on ST they will win this game 24-20. the momentum shift, and chances for the hogs to start rolling will be lost. I truly believe that is the only way A&M can put up enough points to win, and hold the momentum long enough to win.

Yeah umm….I’m going to need them to score 21. In fact, 38-21 will work nicely.

I expect to see Arkansas open up the passing game against A&M. KJ is completing 70% of his passes but has only attempted 78 through 3 games compared to 146 rushing attempts. We haven't really needed the passing game yet but as we get into better competition I expect we'll be seeing a lot more of it.

Hogs have given up over 300 yards passing every game. I just can’t imagine them solving that overnight. A&M team speed at receiver should be the fastest they’ve been up against. And Max should be more settled in at QB now. I just can’t use the team’s performance under King the first 2 games as a comparison of what to expect.

That should be a good matchup then since A&M has a top 10 secondary.
