Also like Bobby said, what type of Sr. Leadership do we have on our team? Bost nor Bryant are leaders. Hood as a freshman is one of our few vocal leaders.

I'm usually on Vyvanse, but every 3 months I stop taking it for a week. I'm on my off week and I have literally done 1.5 actual hours of real work.

1 NCAAT berth out of 4 seasons isn't winning Bundy

I started a thread about it on the OT that isn't going very well

quote:You act as though discipline and winning are mutually exclusive. Croom ran off some good players that happened to be thugs. He ran a West Coast offense with DII players. He had been out of college football for 18 years. He was a recipe for disaster. Your myopia is just that - too short sighted to understand that some times you have to take risks. I bet you are afraid to change your underwear in the morning for fear of getting a pair that aren't as good as the ones you had yesterday.
Croom was your disciplinarian and look what it got him. His players respected him and were well behaved but they couldn't win.
BTW - I recall a guy named Bobby Knight that enjoyed a bit of success mixing discipline with winning.

that's because croom sucked, not because he was a disciplinarian.

He also got fired. Plus went overboard with his actions choking a former player, using more profanity than was in Good Fellas, and having meltdowns on the court.
No coach anywhere near Bobby Knight's style could make it today IMO.

You think Bost is a good SR leader?
Timmy Bowers was a great SR leader as was Shane Power. Dee isn't anything like them.

so you would rather consistently go to the NIT than hire a good up and comer have one losing season then NCAAT 3 of every 4 years?...

I think he is as vocal of a leader as they come, good or bad. He runs the team more than Stansbury, because he doesn't have a choice. Hood is the exact opposite, which is fine.

Can you name one coach that has EVER been fired after making the NCAA tournament.
Stan Heath
Bruce Pearl
Bob Knight
Tim Floyd
And many, many more.

Pearl and Floyd were fired because of NCAA violations and Knight for breaking his zero tolerance policy.
Heath is the only one legitimately fired after making the tourney.

Most of those had pretty serious controversy that led to their firing though.

I would gladly lose the rest of the games this year if it meant that we could hire Bruce Pearl and he would stay for a while.

Sure, but not serious enough to keep them from getting jobs the following year, except in Pearl's case.
These were the most recent "off the top of my head" firings.

I dont see us hiring a coach like Pearl who has as much baggage as he does, and if we did offer him he'd likely turn it down.
