then the bowl rep has made a complete arse out of himself, as that is exactly what he said.
He is definitely mistaken. There are two sites being decided upon, one just north of the existing site, and one just south of the existing site. And they're choosing between these two sites because Atlanta is too stupid to put the stadium in Doraville. But that is an argument for another day.

And the article from the Atlanta paper seemingly backs him up,
Which article?

Build it in Flowery Branch
That would at least make NGT happy.

I've been following this for a while. It looks like a new stadium will be built. The deal isn't final, but it has already passed several hurdles. The new stadium have a retractable roof and will cost about a billion dollars.
Two locations are under consideration, both close to the current Ga. Dome.
The Ga. Dome will eventually be demolished, but not until the new one is complete. So I don't anticipate the SECCG, the Chick-fil-A bowl, etc going anywhere. My guess is once the new stadium is complete ATL will start bidding for a Super Bowl and a college football National Championship game.

No shite. Especially when I work in Tucker and make that drive five days a week. Spend about 10 hours a week sitting in the car.

Another use like the Astrodome??????
Um the astrodome is a monument to waste and political banter. It has a $30 million dollar bond sitting on it now. The city is paying interest only payments on the bond hoping some developer wants to come in renovate it. No developer wants to renovate it because it is filled with Asbestos. Politicians in town, fearing that they could be branded as being responsible to letting the Astrodome getting blown up by dumb hicks in town, argue that it would cost $100million dollars to have it blown up. Experts have targeted that figure between $5 and $15 million, depending on scrap.

would be sweet, most of the fans they want are on the north side anyways. and they would have room for real parking lots

It will be paid off by the beginning of the construction of the new stadium.

they still owe 100 million if I am not mistaken, which is wierd for a stadium that cost around 200 mil to build. I htink they havent had an exact date but current projection were not till like 2018

Especially if they do these damn PSLs like they're talking. I wish Blank would only do them on Club Level seats and lower level seats between the 20's. Leave the endzone seats and upper decks season tickets alone.

yes, but it only cost 200 million and they want to build a 1 billion dollar stadium, while still oweing 100 million on the dome

Why replace it at 20 years old? What's the motivation? Jerry Jones.

I guess when there done, they will probably demolish the GA Dome or find another use like the Astrodome
This is what will happen. It is also a shame that the astrodome is still in existence. The only pretty thing in Houston is right next to that eye sore. The whole dirty, no zoning, city needs a fricking makeover.
