It would seem even among LSU Fans there are divisions on the Hiring...

From reading here and hearing via the media I would like to address two issues I have heard from many sources:
1- Many People want one of the dynamic young coaching prostitutes who are always available to the highest bidder***** My rebuttal to that is twofold. First, many people do learn from past mistakes and develop new perspectives to avoid the shortcomings in the past. Secondly, this man has arrived home.If you really think about it some of the greatest college coaches of all time truly achieved greatness when they too went home. Paul "Bear' Bryant and Steve Spurrier to name two of them. A man who truly knows the school and the locale already has a great head start on any other hire.Particularly in recruiting.
2- Many people put down his way of speaking and his kind of rough hewn image. Just let me remind you..."Bear" Bryant was the most charasmatic and best coach in my lifetime and no one was more rough hewn than Paul Bryant....and I could only understand 5 out of every 10 words he mumbled. The only people this man has to motivate are his players...and to this point I certainly think he has done that.Coaches never say much to the media anyway. "We are playing a really good team this week....blah,blah,blah."
Time will tell on this hire...But,I think a lot of the people who knock it so vehemently may just be proven wrong. I hope so,not just for LSU but for the SEC. A conference that only has one outstanding team is weak.We need 14 good teams!!!! My opinion anyway.....

I like the hire as long as he gets a competent OC and keeps his hands off the offense. The defense will continue to be good with DA coordinating.

A large portion of O's failure at OM stemmed from his obsession with installing the USC offense when OM had no comparable skill players to run that.

I don't know this and don't want to even look it up but didn't Bryant win a championship at Kentucky and the same for Spurrier at Duke. What did Orgeron do at Ole Miss. I would think they all three would be similar opportunities.

You sure spent a lot of time typing out your 2 perspectives

1. Sometimes coaches succeed in familiar areas
2. Sometimes coaches that talk funny succeed
